Hey guys,

once again i find may self asking the gun gurus another dumb question.

What is the frame size for the colt lawman MKIII (its my grandfather's service revolver) the grips are cracked and I have not been able to find decent grips for it that are close to the size of the original colt service grips (side panels only low profile). It seems everything i find out there are huge presentation or huge exotics. I just want the plain checkered service grips for this guy to brig back the look.

BTW if you know where i could find the true originals that would be cool too.

I don't know the frame number/letter designation, but it should be the same as a Trooper MK III (not an Official Police, Python, old-style Trooper/"Colt .357", etc.) Were it mine I would be looking for some correct original grips, at an auction site, gun show, parts bins of gun shops, etc.

I've got a Colt Lawman MKIII .357 snubby. It is on a Colt J frame. Keep in mind the Colt J frame is the same size as a Smith K frame.

When looking for holsters, etc. The Lawman will fit in a holster for a Smith K frame.
