I had one of those as a kid. :)

I'd say that ad was early to mid 60's.

The only downside to those rifles was the ejector would take a dump and you had to use your pocket knife to get the fired case out.
 
The Model 49 single shot lever actions are unique and fun little rifles. The only complaint I've heard about them has been in regard to the extractor. You can still find near mint examples for around $100 here and there. Here's an ad from June of 63. I have a very nice example that looks identical to the one in the picture.

About the ad I posted

from the price given I would say definitely early to mid-1960s. It came out in late 1961 at 19.95 but the price quickly went up a bit. I forget where the ad is from because I have had this stored in my computer. However, it was for sale on ebay at one time and I copied the image.
