Sure, why not. I had forgotten what a nice shooting pistol they are until I took mine out the other day and put a few Wolf turds through it. Sad to say, but it shoots straighter than my Glock.

I like my Maks a lot. The EG and Bulgarian still get carried on occasion.


East German, Bulgarian and Russian military Makarovs.

I'm game! ...just got the one, recently acquired Chinese Mak, but this thing would feed gravel if I could get it into the magazine. I'm hooked! What's Chinese for comrade?

I'll post some further pictures in the Makarov Club once I get the Marschal grips in from Hungary.

Here's my E. German. Nothing special, but this one has a very nice trigger and now sports Pearce grips instead of the plastic ones shown.

I have 7, 2x Bulgarian military, 1x Russian "hi-cap" blued 9x18, 1x Russian ij-70 blued .380acp, 1x Russian blued 9x18 IJ-70, 1x 1960 dated east German, 1x Chinese mod 59 in the box 9x18.
Have owned others.

Do CZ82s count? My dad also has a bulgy. I'll have to take some pics.

I happen to like the East German plastic grips the most of all I have tried. They look good, and don't have the (external) lanyard loop.

Maks, the 'Lays Potato Chip' of the handgun world ... nobody can have just one ...

My two East German Makarovs ('62 & '64)... both purchased from THR members ... The second one had a trigger job done by Sylvan-Forge and is the smoothest Mak I've ever shot ... Best price I've found on 9x18 ammo is Wideners .... $167 per 1000

I say we keep this Makarov club to the actual Makarov PM pistols.

I have an East German and Bulgarian. Great guns.

Bought my IJ70 Mak here on THR. LErv it. It's a bit heavy for pocket carry, but makes for a great small IWB. Ten rounds of 9x18 on hand is nothing to sneeze at.

Those cost money. I got the East German grip on a whim, for dirt cheap from a Fleabay seller.

I have an IJ-70 that I LOVE. It is my summer carry piece. I wouldn't trade this gun for anything. You all mention buying from THR members. Is there a "for sale or trade section" in this forum?

I have more Maks than pics! Never did (yet) pic up an EG, but a few years back I picked up 3 milsurp Bulgies (sold 1), a Commercial Russian & a Russian Milsurp.

I customized 1 of the Bulgies for carry - here's a pic:
