My Makarov jammed!

I'm sorry, but it has been scientifically proven that it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for a Makarov to jam. So it must have been a figment of your imagination.;)

Seriously though, I have never had or seen a Makarov malfunction. But I suppose it must happen from time to time.

Never had any AK ever jam up either.

Well...

...was it like Friday the 13th or something? Wolf/Hornady/'Bear etc ammo - if it feeds ...it shoots with no issues.

As an aside, I gotta dig mine out of the safe but reasonably priced Mak (particularly the SIlver or brown bear stuff seems to have dried up :fire:

Mine did when I used 115gr Wolf ammo and non-EG mags. As a result, I use more common 95-100 grain factory rounds.

Both my mak and my CZ82 will jam occasionally with Silver Bear 94gr JHPs. I've chalked it up to ammo.

I was using Wolf when it happened. Then I ran out of the Wolf and started in on some USA-made, brass case stuff and it worked well again. I didn't know that even Wolf ammo could jam a Mak. What do I do with my signature file now?

I have only shot the cheapest 95gr ammo in mine. The military $7.89 ammo. That has never jammed. It is hard to believe a MAK jammed. I am sure that it is a statisitcal possibility. I figure it to be in the same statistical range as the lottery- when it is over 100mil. If I were you I would buy a ticket. This could be the start of a roll.

I have five Maks from three different countries and they have never jammed, but anything mechanical can and will fail.

clean your mags REAL good! My russian mak failed to fully go back to battery twice but that was after shooting 250 rounds of silver bear jhp in one range session. The mags were filthy so I pulled all my mags apart and sprayed them with some gunscrubber...no problems with the rest of the case of ammo.
