My prayers are with you and your mother. I'm in a similar situation. Earlier this week my sister was diagnosed with cancer and just yesterday her home burnt to the ground. She lost everything including her pets. There are plenty of heartfelt prayers to go around.
 
HKU, my prayers are for you and your mother to find strength to negotiate whatever the future holds. My father died of pancreatic cancer 3 years ago; the only thing I could do was be with him and let him talk. Selfishly, I did not want to give him up, but as a Christian man, he was ready to go home to his God. Just be with your Mom and support her, that's all you can do. God Bless you both.
 
Thanks again every one for the thoughts and prayers. I haven't been able to get to a PC with some free time in a couple of days with all of the hustle and bustle around here. It means a great deal to me that so many send your support, this is an awesome place in a lot of ways, helping each other is definately one of them.

Spend time with her as much as you can, just being there will lift her spirits and that's a healing force in itself. Do what you can, don't expect yourself to be superhuman. Reaching out for help and prayers is normal and often necessary in trying times.
