If the Heller decision stopped all restrictions, what would you buy?

Umm, for the guys that want gatling guns, I'm pretty sure the hand-cranked versions are perfectly legal right now. It probably varies by state, but the only thing keeping you away from one is the depth of your pockets. Just don't use an electric drill to turn the crank. . .

Yep, fun to dream. I would not expect vintage FAs to drop any. Repros might after time. In fact, I am not as confident in a common sense decision as I was a few days ago, before the Gitmo decision. Expect the usual suspects (Ginsburg, Breyer, Stevens and Suetter [dang, I know that is not the right spelling, but you know who I mean]) to be just fine with the DC gun ban. If they can bring Kennedy over to their side we are screwed. I am spooked at the idea that 2A individual rights are in the hands of a SC justice who wobbles around in his decisions. Maybe we will know fairly soon.

I really don't think that the SCotUS will rule as broadly as some of you seem to think. Since it deals directly with the interpretation of the Constitution, I bet they hand down a tight ruling without much room for interpretation.

I wouldn't buy any new guns, instead I'd be busy converting to select fire the ak's I already have.

Could only afford to shoot regularly something .22LR

So a FA .22LR with a hush puppie!

I could sort of afford 9MM and the MP5 "speaks" to me....

Yes, I too was expecting a lot. Then the stupid recent "terrorist" decision T'd me off!

I'd start out with a thompson and a M16/M4.

The reason for the M16 is that - of all the years I've been in the military I haven't shot the M16 in automatic. Yet that would be an option if/when I'm sent to the desert.

I want experience.

The thompson because, well, by all accounts firing it is a hoot.

You can already buy MP5s, M4s, etc...

It's about the inflated pricing stabilizing, and that wouldn't be any time soon.

I'd just want a select-fire AR lower, so I could shoot .22lr's all day long, but with the option of shooting something bit a bit more stopping power when I felt like it.

Some sort of belt-fed .22lr would also be about as much fun as I could handle as well.:)

Add a suppressor and some sub-sonic ammo? Better quit talking about it before I get aroused. :p

What I really want are genuine Galil rifles in both 7.62 and 5.56. It is not imported, and no matter what happens with Heller, that won't change. The ones available in the states are prohibitively expensive because they can't be imported.

BAR D Model
Skorpion .32
SBS and SBRs
an M-79
and all the sound suppressors I wanted...

I would like to get a BAR. But until I have the money, I'll just keep stocking up on ammo..

An American 180. Picture a FA Thompson with a horizontal drum on top that holds 180 .22 rounds and your almost there.

Unless Heller comes with reduction in ammo cost, probably nothing class III. I already have a few of those that are too expensive to shoot. :(
