hey, guys, John Lott has asked me to help track down the guy(s) who used to run the Packing.org website/forum.

Can anybody point me/ him in the right direction?

Mark Solomon

Look for detail in PM - which as it turns out is crap - basically the contact information for his hosting service... Sorry.

Is there a similar website out there that is still active today?
handgunlaw.us is pretty good, although it is not quite as well organized, and does not have a user forum. It also does not summerize state laws as PDO used to do, or comment on them.

I seem to recall he had several other web sites and several email addresses. Toward the end, he did not respond to emails at all, even from the people he appointed as admins at packing.org.

Mark Soloman...hard to track down and get a reply from even when PDO was up and running.

Gary Slider....well, that is easy. handgunlaw.us is his

Mark dropped Packing.org due to school and lack of time. I have no idea how to contact him at present.

Gary Slider and Steve Aikens (former Packing admin) own and run the Handgunlaw.us site, and can be contacted through there.

I was an admin at Packing.org for years, so if I can help, please feel free to contact me.

July 26 will mark one year since PDO faded to black.
A sad loss, and I still miss the site even with all of its flaws and warts.

I think handgunlaw.us is better. I am glad there is not a forum there.

hangunlaw.us provides links to all State laws and they will update you via email of legislative changes and actions.

It took a while for me to get over PDO as well...

Last I talked to Mark Solomon, probably close to 2 years ago, he was going to law school.
