Is it possible to install an underfolding stock on my stamped reciever, fixed stock gun? I've seen adapters, but would prefer not to use them due to the length they add to the stock.

Sure it's possible.

Just takes money.

When you get tired of the underfolder, it'll take more money to weld it back up to a fixed stock capable rifle.

So if I have it drilled to accept the underfolder, it makes it incapable of using a fixed stock?(without being re-modified)

Yeah, I know my Yugo under folder could not accept a fixed stock without smithing.

Correct.

The rear underfolder trunnion will not allow any stock fitment other than the underfolder.

An underfolding stock requires a big ol' hole through both sides of the receiver, plus a few smaller rivet holes that are not in the same location as any of the rivets used to secure the fixed stock trunnion. Not a trivial change to make. Besides, underfolding AK stocks suck to actually shoot with. If you really want a more compact AK, try a Romanian or German wire sidefolder first - those will bolt right on to your existing rear trunnion.

Ian,
Thats a painfully subjective opinion. I have no problem shooting my Yugo underfolder... all day... through hundreds of rounds. The recoil of the AK is not enough to make it suck. Even the cheek weld is acceptable once you get accustomed to it.
