:D

Camera nerd notes: SB800 camera left + umbrella, SB800 @ -1EV + 1/2 CTO camera right Justin clamped to door. D80 set to ISO 400 @ f/8 for 1/200 sec on tripod + SU800 (new toy, wheee!), triggered by IR remote (see right hand trigger finger).

When the heck you gonna make it back east? This east...

Like, East meets Midwest east? I haven't been out to Misery since an Earl Scruggs concert back in 2002.

Suggest that you kiddies go listen to some pickin'...

(Skunk, I don't think they currently have a real instrument onboard, but did you ever check out The Goose Creek Symphony? Got turned on to 'em by a fellow who used to pick a little with a guy named Monroe... Had another roomie who played bass for Ricky... Me, I just carry big heavy things... If we do this before I move, I can bring about 4,000 watts of Crowns, and we can rent some speakers)

That's "Clint Eastwood," plick . . .

Another way to do remote shutter release on self-portraits is with a squeeze bulb and step on it. Or delay timer --

What do you do when your friend calls you because he ran out of gas and is stranded on the offramp? Just because you lend him a hand doesn’t mean you can’t post the photo for posterity and humiliation (…actually it was half his idea).

D80 + 16-85VR on tripod. I like the separation between the shoulder and the offramp. My Honda’s emergency blinkers create a rimlight for Eric and a warm interior glow from the VW. The streaks of the oncoming vehicles’ headlamps create another story. I’m not sure what, but I’m glad I was standing to the side.

Dude! Your buddy stuck on the offramp has a real Bug (air cooled, 1960-something). That makes up in pure cool what it costs him in humiliation.

It's a 1970! The gas gauge is broken and so is the surfboard rack so the surfboard was stuck on the car when he bought it and is a permanent fixture! LOL

Nice little ride though.

Skunky now I know why you are a legend.
You made me laugh, and that's what I needed after work today.

Yup... This is the High Road. With no gas station in sight.

Skunk, there's better BBQ in Tennessee... You got any images you really like, like enough for a wall? I've got this Epson 9800, and have to run it every so often, regardless.
