I just can't go to .40. I'm already all over the place, and I really like my EMP in 9 as-is. So I'm really hoping it's an XD-M in 9mm, although 45ACP wouldn't be the end of the world as thats my other choice.

However, I'm itching to buy something. Anybody have a clearer idea of when the release date is and what caliber?

Thanks.

Yep. The ad says to look for it at your dealer in a few months.

On a related note, in which category is the XD-M for IDPA and USPSA?

Argh. A few months? But, but, but, this money is burning a hole *NOW*... :)

Well, gonna go buy the ruger charger thingie, and come back for an XD later.

Thanks for the info.

technically, it can shoot in all but revolver and single stack. out of the box, it should be ideal for both production and limited, provided you can get a magwell and mag extension bases for it. just remember that limited has to stay under 140mm. try chatting it up over at xdtalk.com ...

9MM might be available sooner than you think but 45 is said to be around December or February. Try the XD Forum. They have a special section for the "M Factor" models.

Hmm. Only thing I've seen here is the standard black and bi-tone XD-M in .40, and I'm looking for what will be available in the 9.

Saw it in 40 cal. this weekend at a gun show. It's nice, it was about $80-100 over the standard XD. It was 2-tone and I'm partial to those in conceal carry mode. Good looking...
