Anyone use one of these for EDC? I was looking at one at the gun show over the weekend. I liked how compact it was for deep concealment. How do you feel about the accuracy with the short barrel? Basicaly im looking for an over all review. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

My wife has had hers for years. Never a problem. Goes bang everytime. Beware of the Kel-Tec bashers. I also have a P-32 and again never a problem.

We have several KelTecs in the family: one P-40 (now discontinued), two P-11s, two P32s, and one P3AT. All have functioned flawlessly, although not a large number of rounds downrange. Mere display of the P-11 by my daughter in law terminated an attempted home invasion through a bedroom window. My wife carries one of the P32s daily as a backup to her Kahr P-9. I carry the P3AT in DeSantis pocket holster every day, sometimes as a backup to a larger gun and sometimes as my only gun when deep concealment is required. I recommend KelTecs without hesitation.

I think the P11 is in a sweet spot for size, features and price. With minor modifications or an aftermarket magazine it can hold 13 rounds. That's quite a lot of firepower in that small package.

I like how Kel-Tec has stuck to their mission of making sub-compact pistols, and they continue to improve the product. I would not hesitate to buy a P3AT or P32, although I think when you get into the P11 size guns, a lot of options open up.

My P-11 needed several magazines worth of ammo for break-in purposes. I used about 120 rounds as a "break-in" period for mine and only after those first three magazines did I have FTE stovepipes. I've easily run several hundred more since then, and flawless operation has been the norm. It has been a very good companion since and does not fail me. In other words, it goes bang every time I pull the trigger and the bullet goes where I'm aiming it. (Within reason, of course. For example:100 yard accuracy is a little much to ask of any pocket pistol.)
I have no hesitation about trusting my life to this firearm*. For me, it is that reliable.

*Run enough ammo thru yours to insure it works well with the ammo you intend to carry and use for just-in-case. It only makes good sense.

I've had one since pretty much the day they went on sale; #14xx. i use the belt clip and silvertips. still gets carried when it fits my needs. K_T has rebuilt it twice over the years--fast turn around and no charge. my daughter has appropriated my p3at and the p32 walks the dog and sometimes accompanies me grocery shopping.

Ugly,
Chunky,
Clunky,

but they work.

I had one, it is a "no thrills' firearm, but it works. Some claim very good accuracy with theirs though I have never needed to shoot it any distances beyond close-up SD practice ranges. I felt confident enough in the P11 that I gave it to a LEO friend of mine for carry as a BUG. -I would never have done this if I didn't believe in its reliability.

I like mine. Bought it used for $179 and it's gone bang every time I squeezed the trigger. I can live with the recoil but I don't particularly care for the trigger. But again, for the price, size, and 10 round mag, it's great.
As for accuracy, mine's no tack driver; but neither am I.

I sold mine after having the mag catch
break twice,it a shame as it ran 100%
and was accurate enough for a pocket
pistol.i was carefull not to slam
home the mag and damage the catch.

I have a KT P11; 2nd one I've owned- both reliable, accurate enough for its intended purpose.

Only problem I have is it beats my thumb joint enough to where I use a glove to practice with it. I wear an XL glove, and it must be the way my hand size fits the grip.

My wife, and friends have no problem in that regard.

I have carried my p11 for about a year now. The only problem I have had is with using Winchester bulk 100rd. The OAL of the bulk WWB seems to be longer than any of the other ammunition. It feeds everything else fine, including 147gr ammunition. Accuracy is good but the trigger can throw you off until you get used to it.

+ 1 on that...... I bought a black pair of $12 batting gloves from walmart and cut the trigger finger off..... Works just as good as the $60 pair of shooting gloves I looked at..

For the OP, my P11 has done great, it eats everything except Wolf steel cased ammo, just wish it came factory with a better trigger. There are kits out there to lighten the trigger and everyone seems to like them.

Another satisfied owner here. I'm on my second one. Foolishly traded the first and then wished I hadn't. I've only polished the feed ramp on this one and can't recall ever having a malfunction of any kind with it. The first one was the same.

It's one of the best buys for the money in the pistol world, IMO.

I bought one of the very early ones and liked it except for the finger-exerciser trigger.

I got a new spring from Kel-Tec (for free), installed it and was very pleased with the difference.

Small, quite light, holds 11 rounds of 9mm, so cheap it's amazing, accurate enough for self defense work, etc.

Like I said - bargain.

:)

IMO, the P-11 has some of the biggest "bang for your buck" in a pocket 9mm. I'm up to around 500 or so rds through mine without a single hiccup. I EDC it in an appendix carry IWB holster, it's so small and light I forget it's there.
Accuracy is OK, not a tack driver but good enough for it's intended purpose. The trigger is not great, but again, it does the job for this guns intended purpose.
Here' a size comparison with a 1911 and a P-3AT.

Been very happy with mine. No problems at all with it. It is light enough that I don't even know its there and I don't even have a fancy holster/gunbelt to use with it. I use a DeSantis Tuckthis holster(25-30 bucks) and all is well in my world.

My wife has had hers for years. Never a problem. Goes bang everytime. Beware of the Kel-Tec bashers.

Ditto. Hits the center of a paper plate every time at 7 yards.

Mine compares very favorably to my S&W 469 for small 9mm. Both are 12+1 (Keltec sells 12 round mags).

The Smith has been absolutely boring in it's sure reliability and so has my P11. The P11 is lighter and a striker shooter that bites my finger, the Smith is heavier and DA/SA/Decocker that doesn't bite.

I take the P11 more often than the Smith for lightweight pocket carry in the winter.

P11 is well worth having.

P11 works for me...usually pocket carry in a pocket holster. A Kel-Tec optional 12 round mag (Mec-Gar, just like the 10 shot one) turns the small gun into a "P13".

Loaded, the P11 also weighs less than a S&W 49 5-shot by an ounce, but not lighter than a S&W 642.

My P11 has replaced my S&W J-frame for pocket carry...still have the S&W's though ;)

p11

there is a simple mod with a paper clip to the hammer spring that makes a WORLD of difference....check out ktog.org for details...gpr

My wife and I both carry P-11's. I bought the first one for me and when she saw it... ...you guessed it, it became hers and I had to get another one. I have read that Kel-Tec is soon to release a new P-11 based on the PF-9 design only with a double stack magazine. I prefer the old style as it does not have the trigger disconnect or the accessory rail. Parts will not be interchangable, so parts for the current style will probably dry up after a while. However if Kel-Tec gets the bugs worked out of it and the PF-9, it should be a good gun.

I could never get past the trigger pull so I traded mine. I shoot DAO pistols quite a bit, but this one was beyond me. I tried a trigger shoe and it didn't help a bit. I like a firm pull with a DAO gun, but this one was over the top. I could achieve accuracy overcoming the natural tendency to shoot low/left with a good deal of effort, but I feared that in a stress situation it might not happen. I know that there are fixes for the trigger, but it is my practice to carrry a SD gun with a original factory trigger, so the P11 went bye-bye. That was too bad as overall there was a lot that I liked about the gun.
