The Marlin is highly thought of here. I dont own one but would like to. Aparently Big5 has there own version of the Marlin with a stock of a lower quality wood that is considerably cheaper than anywhere else.

Picked up a spotless 1977 Marlin 1894c from a member here a few weeks ago. It wasn't cheap. I could have purchased a new rifle of a different heritage for the same $$ but so far it sure seems to be worth the investment to me.

Get the AMERICAN made Marlin 1894C 18 1/2 inch barrel,or 1894 Cowboy 20 inch octagon barrel Was also made for a while with 24 inch oct barrel. Keep our jobs and money at home. Marlin quality, and accuracy is legendary. Customer service is second to none.

I don't have an 1894 in 357, but do have a few in 44 and .45 Colt. Here is a pic of a standard 1894 44 (Top rifle) and the 1894 CB .45 it looks just like the 1894 CB .357 with 24 inch barrel.

i wnt be putting glass on it. to me putting glass on a lever rifle is blasphemy. im just wanting a matched pair. single action 357 and lever action.

Purchased an 1894C .357 a year ago for around $400 if I recall correctly. Feeds all .357 rds and .38 rounds including cheapy rounds. More accurate than me. A real neat gun! Actually, I'm thinking of getting a .357 revolver to keep the Marlin company.
