I've seen alot of newish, boxer primed 7.62x51mm surplus (Lithuanian) ammo for sale recently, but haven't seen anybody selling the brass.

Are people just hoarding this stuff or what? I need some nice once fired .308:eek:

Lithuanian .308

That's the best .308 surplus ammo I've ever encountered hands down. It is very close to match grade.

I have 2 -1,000 round cases on the shelf right now, and the brass is beautiful. It is very tough to deprime. I am using a universal depriming die, and I had to really torque down the cinch nut to keep it from popping the pin.

It also has a full crimp on the primer that really needs to be swagged. The brass weighs about 20 grns more than a commercial .308 casing.

It's a lot of work to get it to the point you can reload it, but it is nice brass.

The little I have seen of that brass impressed me. I deprime all my rifle brass with a Lee decapper and base. Much easier for me and saves the wear and tear on the press. I use an RCBS primer pocket swager on all my mil brass.

Did you shoot the surp yourself, or find a seller with brass? Given your review I'd be very interested in acquiring some myself... but I am no longer buying surplus ammo at today's prices.

Got a lead?

FWIW, I have been selling once-fired LC M118LR Match brass for the past year and a half, and have sold about 40,000 pieces to date. This brass was fired in Marine Corps M40A3 sniper rifles, and the chambers of these rifles is so tight, that all you need to do is necksize this brass to fit a factory .308 Win chamber. And, there is no primer crimp to contend with. While I am currently out of stock right now, I am expecting more in a week or two. If anyone is interested, email me and I will get back to you when the brass arrives.

If you're referring to the Lithuanian GGG headstamp - its a keeper!

I use a Lee decrimping die, Dillon Super Swage, then small base resize, trim, and load.

I have several dozen that I have reloaded 7 times now, with no signs of it getting bad - and my AR10 is HARD on cases.

+1 on USSR's brass. I've bought 500 rounds off of him and it's good stuff. FWIW.

I also have bought off of midway when they have the seasonal once fired . .requires the use of a SB sizing die to get it to chamber in my rifles. Worth the extra $ to buy from USSR.

have a good one,
Dave
