Casting for Garand

Had a bud who did. He loaded his rounds so that the cast bullets were a slight crush fit into the rifling.

The delay to bolt closure caused an out of battery slamfire. I think the receiver was ruined.

many load lead in garand.I am in the process to do it.usually they load 170/80
gr.I am not sure what powder I will use but am going to work up to cycle the action.

stick to jacketed 150 gr. bullets and 4895 or 4064 powders at appox. 2700fps using current reload manual

Lead & bullet lube in the gas system seems likely.
