On November 19 please go out and buy 100 rounds of ammo. It's not an "official" day but I put "National" in the thread's title to make folks aware we need to do this all over the U.S.A.
I know it's tough right now, economically speaking, but this is the day we let all the anti-gunners in D.C. know that law abiding citizens DO buy ammo to go with all those legal firearms we own or just recently bought.

Here is the official site:

Normally I like to support this day but I'm starting to have second thoughts. Raw material costs have declined much more than ammo prices and quite frankly I think the ammo manufacturers are taking us for a ride.

I guess it counts, bullseye308. Couldn't hurt!

The ammo and firearms makers are in for a rough ride with this new rabidly anti-gun administration.
We can help them with our dollars.
Personally, I'd rather give my money to them as opposed to having my money taken by the fascist regime coming into office now.

There doesn't seem to be much ammo left to buy, everyone in Houston seems to be out of .223. Glad I had plenty in storage.

I went to a couple local shops here in Phoenix, there is little to buy. After speaking to employes they told me they sell out as soon as more shows up. It is rather silly but at least it is more money pumped into the economy.

Yes!...reloading supplies! I need to feed an M 1, a K-31, a .303 Enfield and a couple of pistols. I should make a list tonight. Primers...powder...bullets...and brass for the Swiss Miss! :D

Mark.

I'm barely riding on ramen money right now, but I'll be stopping by my hole-in-the-wall shop a couple days later to help that guy out.

As for giving the arms manufacturers out money, it absolutely helps. It's not only the NRA lobbying, the manufacturers are looking to keep themselves in business too.

Bumpadeebump!

It's 11/17/08. Do you know where your gonna buy some ammo on 11/19/08?

Enough ammo gets bought up nationwide and, who knows(?) it may make the evening propaganda, uhh...I mean news.

Or maybe it won't and we'll have spare ammo above and beyond what we already have. When is that ever a bad thing? :D

It already makes the news here. Stan at Rajo's already admitted his suppliers are running out and he cant keep ammo or handguns in stock, no matter how many he buys. He said less hunting rifles are being sold. People are holding on to the long guns that they have and are buying handguns. Sales to women and noobs are rising.

Well, I couldn't hold out 'til the 19th. I bought some ammo yesterday. Maybe I'll shoot some ammo on the 19th instead. :D

Since I reload for everything that is a centerfire that I own (except my 16 gauge) I'll go get a few hundred .22 rounds just to support the cause.

I was off today so I thought I would get a jump on the 19th. Bought a bulk pack of Winchester .22's and some Federal 12 gauge slugs. I wanted to stock up at the local gun show yesterday, but none of the big ammo vendors were there. Hope this isn't a sign of ammo shortages to come.

National ammo day

Flags are flying all over the country today in celebration of National Ammo Day!!!!:D I have planned a nice dinner tonight at the local Mexican restaurant for me and my family. After that I thought that I would fill up another .50 cal. ammo can and gently place it atop the pile here at my mountain top retreat in central Arkansas. I will then start a nice cozy fire in the fireplace and read my last issue of guns and ammo and then get online with my friends at The High Road and discuss the days finds.

Hope you all find the ammo deals that you are searching for. Let me know what you did today to celebrate National Ammo Day.:):
