This one is open to any and EVERY .17HMR/HM2 caliber rimfire rifle. This match is meant to be challenging and FUN. Hopefully it will get you out to the range and shooting your rifle.

You may enter with multiple rifles.

Scoring
Take ONE shot at each dot, for a total of 15 shots. The hole touching or inside largest dot is worth one point. The slightly smaller dot below it is worth 2 points, the dot below it is worth 3 points, the dot below it is worth 4 points and the smallest dot on the bottom is worth 5 points. 45 total points are possible.

And to make this a little more interesting... IF ALL five shots in one of the vertical columns are CLEARLY FULLY inside the black a bonus of 10 extra points per column will be awarded. 30 possible bonus points + 45 = perfect 75 score

Range
50 yards for iron sights and non-magnified optics and red dots

100 yards for any Scope or Magnified sighting device.

If you have any sugestions to make this competition better let me know. I don't have any experience with the .17HM2 so I don't know how it stacks up against the .17HMR. If you all think the distance is to far let me know and we will see about changing it. I didn't get a chance to test the target at 100 yards but I did do it at 50 yards and it was way to easy.

Thanks to justsaymo for the rules!

I just might have to give this a try on the weekend. Sounds like fun and an excuse to shoot a little.

are you guys gonna do some shootin' or are ya just gonna shoot the breeze??!?!?!??! LOL...

Sorry... haddabedun... the .22LR guys are kickin' your butts....

Schleprok62

Thats funny, after looking at your targets in the .22 thread, I was thinking the same thing about you guys.:neener:

Going to start doing some shooting that is.

Its a sticky now!!!!!

We are going to see who as more skill, the .22lr guys, or the .17 guys... I'll almost bet that we will have some better targets with .22, just because we don't expect the rifle to do all the shooting:neener:

Great, just in time. The temperature dropped to well below freezing, some well into the negatives, and it is snowing randomly. I hate march.

Where is everyone?

Looks like Monday will be a good day for shooting this competition here in Iowa.

I have been waiting to see if anyone will put up a score, but looks like I may compete against myself.

There sure was alot of people wanting to compete with their .17hmr's in the rim fire competition when everyone had a .22. Why wont you all compete against another .17hmr?

Come on people, you are letting 1858rem down! He is STILL waiting to see if you .17 guys are really all that, or are you embarressed because you know that the .22lr guys can yup you?:neener:

Well I was going to shoot one today, but the wind out here is 22mph with almost consant gust of 45mph. So I will wait till another day.

yeah, posted target before April 1 is the deadline. Don't worry though, there will be another match next month (even with nobody competing:D lol)
