For CZ owners out there, how many of you find CZ triggers to be lighter and crisper than other companies? Especially the CZ83. A recent trip to the range has given me the conclusion that sig, springfield, glock and ruger 9mm pistols have heavy non-linear trigger pulls. The CZ was a bit lighter, but more importantly it was shorter.

My tweaked CZ75's trigger is amazing.

Stock CZ75 triggers, sans Omega, are not the best.

factory cz triggers tend to be what we call 'lawyer' triggers... long, relatively heavy, with positive sear engagement.

tricked out, it makes one of the best race triggers available.

the new omega trigger system, which has been hitting the shelves, is very nice. much like a classic 75 trigger that already has a trigger job, and can be switched from decocker to manual safety with a single part change. the lawyer-heavy first pull is still there, but with a mainspring swap, it'll feel like a classic 75 with a nice trigger job already done.

On my PCR Compact, the DA pull is short - thanks in part to the decocker system which starts the hammer from half cock - and smooth. The SA pull is somewhat creepy and heavy, due to the above mentioned positive sear engagement, but still perfectly usable as is.

I have no issues, but to put it in perspective, I carried an Astra A-80 over 20 years ago, too. If you ever pulled that trigger, you know what I mean.

+1 ... love my PCR!

The SA trigger on my recent-production CZ75B was a little disappointing. The hammer cammed back about a yard during the gritty and creepy SA pull. It was (relatively) easily rectified, and I like it now, but it certainly wasn't good out of the box.

My 75BD trigger was (and is) one of the worst triggers I've tried. It's smoothed out over the years but still has lots of creep and cam. I did change out the mainspring, which helped.

I've never heard of anyone wishing a trigger job on the CZ83. They are that good.

As for 75Bs. I have yet to experience the new Omega trigger.

I hate that camming of the 75B series guns and will stick with my old CZ75s until the Omega impresses me.

On the other hand, my CZ-USA custom 75BSA had zero camming and the trigger was light as a feather.

My 75B Mil started out with a long, heavy, gritty trigger. Several thousand rounds later, it's one of if not the best trigger I've used. Actually better than my 1911. Actually prefer the CZ to the 1911.

I acctually love mine, just replace the stock with a 15lb main spring with a angus hammer and you've got a real nice pull. IMO, I do very well shooting, better than old timers with gold cups with my cz :)

CZF, replace the mainspring in the omega trigger and it will come pretty close to the custom guns with comp hammers, just minus the short reset.

i know it's a different platform, but you should try a 1911 9mm, such as the STI TROJAN....ahhhh talk about smooth as butter.

I've got my 40B totally disassembled right now, trying to put a comp hammer in it but I can't get those two pins out of the stock hammer assembly. Otherwise, my PCR has a 15 pound mainspring, feels much better than it used to, though it still isn't very smooth I find it is pretty easy to keep the sights steady.

Big hammer, big swing :D

a worked work CZ trigger is a beautiful thing..

out of the box..the SP01 Shadow and the Tactical Sport are great triggers

Can't keep the thing in place, I need to get a vice or something. Can't wait to get everything back together though, should be a much better trigger.

don't need a vice. just get two pieces of flat anything, like two pieces of hardwood. put a gap between them, and have the pin in the gap, then bang away. that way, the pin falls through the gap.

to be honest, i used two snap-on screw driver handles as the pieces and i put the hammer sideways across and banged out the pin that way. ghe-tto!

My PCR had the worst trigger of any gun I owned. I replaced the stock spring with a 15# spring. It is now much better, but still not good. Why should anyone have to work on a brand new gun?

Go with Sigs. They are sweet and neat right out of box.
