New Member Intro

Hi Everybody,

I'm a new member and avid hunter.

I started hunting when I was 7 or 8 and I'm nearly 65, will be in September.

Among my gun collection I have a Winchester Model 12 20 guage. I'm looking for detailed instructions for take-down and re-assembly. Does anybody know where I can download these instructions from the web?

Thanks!

new to board

Hello everyone,
My name is Bob. I am a gun addict. It is under control for now, but I know that I am weak and at any time I could start compulsively start buying guns again. Meanwhile, I take one day at a time and am thankful for the food in my kids bellies and the shoes on their feet. I know if I fall that I will lose my wife and family.

It is a weakness, but I enjoy opening the safe and fondling the steel, wood and polimers. The sweet aroma of burnt powder, Hoppes #9 and food grade silicone spray is only surpassed by the sweet sound of a slide being closed, the pump being cycled and the hammer being cocked. Help me, I am weak.
Thanks

New member from the Panhandle of Florida

Recently retired and moved to Florida from Maryland (mom needed some help). I enjoy hunting, fishing, shooting and reloading. I have a decent collection of firearms that I try to shoot regularly. Since I get lost in my own backyard (hence the odd user name) I am into geocaching and am learning orienteering. I am also an amateur radio operator. I have 4 kids(girlboybg) 5 grandkids (ggggb) and 1 great grandkid (b).

Hey there everyone, I'm an out of work truck driver living in South Jersey. I'm a little new to the gun world but it's something that has always interested me. A few months ago I bought my first firearm, the Remington 870 tactical. I like it alot but I would like to work on some marksmanship rather than just destroying the targets at the range. I have little money to work with so I'm trying to decide between a .22 or maybe a used .30-06 or something. Maybe even a Mosin M44. Well it's nice to meet you all.

Hi everyone, I usually post on wsthf but It went down today. I believe in being prepare and been doing it for years.I like what I see on here and hope I can fit in.

Hello Mates. As my name implies, I enjoy guns from both the American and English perspective. Yes, the Germans may appear to be clever, but when it comes right down to it, we beat 'em on a number of past occasions, so that pretty much negates their clever little parlor tricks. The Americans and the English pretty much accomplish the task with more finesse than any Russian design and without the unnecessary fussiness of the German designs. Don't EVEN get me started on the French! :)

BTW, new guys, what ever you do, do not read the "most hated gun" threads. Yes, it may be fun and have an entertainment like quality, until you see YOUR favorite baby on the list. Then you will be in a crumpled heap upon the floor wondering why someone has referred to your child as "special".

Back after a while!

Just logged in after almost a 3 year absence (last time was Oct. 2006). Disabilities and the life style changes that necessitated forced me out of the gun stuff for a while. Not a lot better physically but want to get back involved and find out what I'm missing by way of information.

Thanks for having me back,
Dave

Hello ALL!

I'm Charlie. Thanks for having me. Im new to reloading and wanted to join up for tips and share my problems and solutions with others.

I'm Joel from Texas... i Recently bought a Sigarms pistol, and am enjoying it quite a bit. I am 22, and my parents are very much against guns. I personally prefer pistols, but I do plan on adding a shotgun to my collection, probably a benelli M4. I will also eventually get a Desert Eagle and a S&W 500. It's good to be here, and can't wait to congregate with my fellow gun lovers

Hey all, I'm Austin. I'm 20 years old and from Missouri. In the military so I get to shoot all sorts of weapons (ok so it might only be a few but who's counting?) I'm looking to build an AR15 when I get home and was referred here by a friend. Hope to get some good advice from everyone!

new member from Western NY

hello all,

I have often found this forum when doing various google searches looking for info on various firearms. I actually checked out the forums today, and decided to join, especially after reading an extensive Mosin thread!

This seems like a great one stop shopping place, and the mission statement is one i very much want to support.

I am a 44 year old, married almost 21 years, with 5 kids, a cat, and a new puppy. Our dog of 12 years died last October.

I am into Milsurps, but exclusively Mosins right now. I like wheel guns, esp. SAA types. I love flintlocks, and have a repro Bess I hope to re stock soon.

I used the GI bill to go to gunsmithing school about 15 years ago, but got into engraving before too long. It IS an addiction, at least for me. I wouldn't do it otherwise!

Ended up in Western NY for the Job, working for Turnbull restoration since Jan. of '05. From South Jersey originally, then spent 11 years in NC.

I like odd things, useful things that are a bit different, really big, or really small, things that are not mainstream.

I love rudimental snare drumming, and classical guitar. I can play the snare drum, but not much on the guitar.

I tend to go on and on when I talk, and i see I'm doing it now.

I like guns for what they do, what they represent for our nation, and for the workmanship/art that they also display. I like the Swiss, and admire the Boers. The rifle was/is important to both groups. I like teaching, and am teaching my kids and everyone else who will listen about firearms and freedom. A growing number of new shooters are developing in our Church. We sometimes fellowship on a friends property, shooting and getting to know each other.

Thanks for all your labors in keeping a place like this running. I tend to go in streaks, so I'll be here off and on. Looks like there is plenty to do and see here though.

Take care,

Tom

Joining the party!

I am in PA and a new gun owner for a plethora of reasons. Primarliy because I went shootin' with my brother and friends and had a total blast! Pun intended.

So far, I have read great advice and information so I joined up. Looking forward to sharing and LEARNING more.

Purchased a Glock 30 and Ruger SP101. Carry permit is in the mail.

Thanks for havin me.

I joined because GOOGLE kept finding good information from the site.

I am a firm believer in the second amendment and the right to bear arms (to the extent that the second amendment is arguably ambiguous).

Hello All,
Just a new guy from STL that's an IT geek by day and leatherworker as time permits. I'm a vet but am I'm newer to handguns and researching a purchase currently.

Hi, I'm David and I'm from Palo Alto, CA

I used to be a "liberal" in the issues of gun control. I thought that the police would always be there and I didn't need guns, nor did anybody else. And then, Katrina came along and all the chaos that went on there, how even the police and the military couldn't protect law abiding citizens from looters and murderers. Then I met a Korean friend whose parents used an SKS from their store rooftop to scare off looters in the 1992 LA riots. So, I decided to actually learn about guns' effects on society, and realized that I was wrong the entire time. It was hard admitting to myself I was wrong, and it was even harder telling that to my parents, who still believe that guns are the bane of this world (in South Korea, its a capital crime to own a firearm. Legacy from 30 years of brutal dictatorship I suppose).

As for guns, I don't have any yet, but as soon as I finish college and move out, I'm planning to exercise my constitutional right to do so.

Problem is, there's this thing I hear about microstamping here in California. It sounds terrible from every point of view and as an engineering student I know this won't work at all whatsoever, but its unfortunately going to be the law soon. I was wondering, what effect will that have on the availiability of firearms? I won't be able to obtain a firearm yet, and I'm a student, so I won't have much money to spare no matter how I'll try...

Hey everyone My name is Phil I go by Pfont here. My intrests are rifles & handguns. I have 2 Mosin Nagant M44s, SKS, Ruger 10/22, DPMS ar-15 A3 lite and 40 S&W 4003TSW.

I have been on this site for awhile and love reading all the different post and have gleaned alot of info from this site.:)

Concealed Carry

I'm a new member, stumbled on the site while doing a little research.

Hadn't been shooting for many years, but a few weeks back wandered into a local gun shop. They were advertising a concealed carry course. (Missouri)

With all the man years that went into getting these laws in effect it seemed to be right and proper to actually exercise this right. So I signed up on the spur of the moment.

Mr.

Hi all. I have been interested in guns all of my life. I am not a hunter except for targets. I have mostly .22 pistols and rifles. I would like to find information on a revolver that was my grandfathers. It is a Smith and Wesson ctg .38 cal 5 shot serial number 56550 .

Newbie To The Forum

Hi Ya'all! New guy to this forum - but experieced in forums as a rule. I live in the suburbs west of St Louis. I don't get to shoot as much as I used to, due to work and other concerns, but I enjoy owning guns. I have several, including an AR15, XD 40, several shotguns and deer rifles and such. Hope to hang around a little and learn some more!

Drjdaj mosin lover

I live near Grand Rapids Mi. am retired and hobby is shooting. I have 3 mosins, an M44, and 2 91/30's and several hand guns

Greetings!

Just recently joined the group here at THR really as a result of seeking out Rob Pincus in order to try and get the rest of the defense series that his company had originally put out throught the NRA.

Although a "man of the cloth", I am very committed to our 2nd amendment freedoms, and am both a hunter and CCW permit holder. I currently carry a Glock 19, but am considering uping to a Kimber .45. I will likely be selling a Colt Python 357 in order to justify the purchase financially. The Colt is a beautiful weapon, but is wholly impractical for concealed carry, and is too nice as a hunting sidearm, so ...
