Even if the staking WAS bad, you can fix it yourself. If the price is right, buy the BCG.

Yep. And even if you don't have the tools to do it, a gun smith will probably fix it up right for ~$35.

But your bolt is properly staked.

One way to ensure proper staking (if you are doing your own) is to mark the locations when almost torqued to spec on the bolt heads. Back them out and grind/file a small notch/divot in the bolt heads. Then torque them properly and stake them at the ground divots. Guaranteed not to back out :)

That appears to be an adequate staking job. Remember, with staking, you just want to keep the screws from backing out unintentionally. It's not necessarily for permanent hold though.

Interesting. Just looked at new Bushy today - no staking on the crown nut and a very light (and not enough) attempt on the BCG.
