Beautiful rifles gentlemen. Thank you kindly for sharing. :D

...and, like several of you, "Peggy Sue" has an older sister that likes to hang out with her. "Thelma Lou", my M1903 is no beauty queen, but she's a real tack driver.

Great looking M1s, everybody.

I hope to cure this by driving down to the North Store when my finals are over in a couple of weeks.
...Other than how the bore and the throat guage, do you guys have any advice for me?
Thanks,
Tim

Tim-
Take enough cash for one rifle and a can or two of ammo. Do NOT take your credit card with you.
:uhoh: :):)

hey pickles, you wouldnt happen to work in the printing biz by any chance?

LOL, the M1A is my dad's. My list of possessions has been acquired over a few years of saving!

well, the reason i ask is i used to know a guy nicknamed pickle, and he was into guns.

he worked on a machine that ppints newspapers.

i knew him because i service those newspaper presses

What a Beautiful group! Gotta love em one and all. As soon as my recent restoration is complete I will post my trio. Figured 1K would be first to post. I've coveted his collection since day 1. Your a dog 1K

Thanks... however, truthfully I'm a lightweight. There are many guys with entire rooms full of garands. Guys with correct and collector grades out the wazoo. They just don't usually post pics because they're too busy fondling their garands and buying more of them. LOL :D I bought the first ones (the blue sky and fed ord) near the end of 2006, as I justified it being the 100th anniversary of the 30-06 ctg. The others have come thereafter. I wish I'd gotten into the DCM/CMP 15 years ago when I first heard about it.

I think if I find a nice Winchester that'll be next... and an IHC. Then I'll work on getting one for every month of production. :D

I really just wanted to get one for each of my kids... but I admit it's going to be hard to give them away. ;)

True! Very true! The CMP forum is loaded with those guys! I'm truly a pauper with my lone M1. :(

Orlando,

No wonder CMP is taking so long to fill my order..............you hogged most of them up. :D

Thanks KRS!

You and Orlando have got me swooning! I'll fall asleep tonight with visions of en-blocs flying through the air!

I love 'em. For a while after I retired I kept buying them, rebarreling and accurizing them, shooting them for a while then buying another one and do it all again.

I'm pretty sure I have eight of them right now, plus one receiver that I might build, and I've sold five of them usually losing the money I put in but don't really care. I gave one to a local club and sent another one to a group in Maryland that puts together donations to provide Garand rifles to badly wounded vets. I was just the other day trying to find the link to those folks because I wonder if they're still operating.

See that lowest one? That's about $300. in wood. The rifle is barreled with a 7.62 Fulton Armory, built fto be accurate as well as I can do it, and I've never fired it. Came out too pretty to take to the range and embarrasses me. The next two up are my shooting rifles, one .30-06 the other 7.62. At least with them it's the targets that get the attention.

krs, first off, I've heard of that program. As a vet, that means a lot to me that you do that. Thank you for doing that.

Secondly, your rifles are beautiful. The Garand bug is only getting worse in me.

i'd post, but apparently post doesn't work in blazer, and backing out of the post page doesn't work on opera mini.

Got mine back today but I feel inferior now. Just kiddin. Get home to camera in a few. Shuff's in Michigan did mine and he is the best $325 I ever spent. Well maybe there were those twins in Mexico
