my ar,my acu's does that count?

my ar is built completely like the one I'm issued and will carry downrange shortly( minus three round burst trigger group and overall length and doc op), how's that for patriotism, does that count?

I have no problem demonstrating my patriotism despite 11/5/08. we still have lots of troops that deserve our suport.

It is because we live in this great contry that you are alowed to demonstrate or not demonstrate as you please.

by the way folk Great Pics!

It's a good thing the Founding Father's didn't give up that easily, or we'd all be under the thumb of a real King, instead of a wanna-be tyrant that thinks he's king.

Well, a couple of you responded to my comment about not feeling patriotic after 11/04/08 but my original post appears to be MIA.

You can delete this one too, it won't change the way I feel.

Saxon PIg,
If you don't like it you are more than welcome to leave. there aren't many people that are happy about it but being unhappy about it, and what you are stating are 2 totallty different things.

I agree Possum...there are many things that I don't agree with in politics, before and after 11/04/08, but we still must have faith in our country and support for those who are willing to die for it.

I deleted my original comments as upon reconsideration this isn't the place.

And go where? I am an American citizen and this used to be my country.

I'm sorry you feel the need to shut me up. This is exactly what I am talking about. We used to be entittled to our individual opinions and we used to be allowed to express them.

no no sir, i am not trying to shut you up, i am the last person that would try to do that. why? because the job i do allows you to say and write what you want on this and other forums. it would be wrong of me to be willing to fight and die for your freedoms and then put you down for what you believe, and how you express the way you feel. you can say what you want and there is nothing that i can say about it.

i was just simply telling you that you can go and i am sure that we will be fine without you. just wanted to let you know that you have options avaliable to you.

as well this is a gun forum, and i see no reason to stick around here if you are not gonna add to the overall good of the group and the forum, i have seen 2 post from you and they have neither one had anything to do with the topic, or sharing knowledge etc.

i am sorry that you feel the way that you do, however if you have nothing to add to the good of the group then you should probally find another place to say what you want, you have been heard here, but this might not be the best place for you, i don't know for sure but that is just a hunch that i have. For example you could burn a flag and video it but i am sure that you wouldn't get a very good reception on this forum.

Let's please not turn this into a political (aka "LOCKED") thread.

My (dads) Ruger MK1.He had it since the 50's or maybe early 60's,might have even used it in competition. Here are photos of him (standing middle 2nd photo) (far right 3rd photo)with some Army competition pics and stuff.Wish he hadn't sold his .45 hahaha.Told him how much one goes for these days and he said whoa lol.

He was infantry in Korea, flight ops for gunships in Vietnam where he got hit on a attack on his base at cu chi.Even with old age and bad eyes last time we went shooting a couple years ago he still put me to shame haha!Very proud of him.

Wow, lionking. Those are some great photos. Thank you for sharing.

I found this to be one of the most touching photographs I've seen in a long time:

In this case, the picture really is worth a thousand words. A very moving image, indeed.

I know it's been said time and again, but I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has served, and those still in service. This weekend, when we're grilling our steaks and having a few cold ones, let's take the time to remember and honor those who gave their limbs and lives for our beloved country. It's not just a day off from work.

Here are some wood and steel warriors that currently sit quietly in my safe. Memorial Day is near and dear to my heart. Several of these weapons will be coming out this weekend, as they do every year on this great holiday, to bark once again in tribute to those who carried them before me.

And a couple more all American beauties that I am lucky enough to own. My gorgeous Barrett M99, and my shorty M16.

To all my fellow servicemen and women, both serving and retired, THANK YOU!

This country wouldn't be what it is without those who have answered the call to duty. Memorial Day is reserved especially for those who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering their nations call. Please take a moment to think of them this weekend and be thankful that they gave their lives so that we could live ours freely.

Maverick223--yep. 2 of my 8-times-great grandfathers signed the thing--assuming there was one.

Here's another from our state--the USS North Carolina, which is now a memorial to all the North Carolinians who died in World War Two:

Just to let you all know how much I really appreciate the veterans, LEO's, firefighters, paramedics, etc.:

I ran into a couple of friends that graduated high school with me earlier tonight. They both joined the Marines right after graduation. I haven't seen either in a while, just the occasional e-mail while they are over in Iraq.

I thanked them. I think they understood. I know they've seen things that's changed them forever that no one should have to see. They're in the thick of it all, risking their butt for millions more.

Great pictures...very touching. No more negative comments like "I hate our country cause American's picked Obama for president" or any of that BS. Its democracy and decisions are not concrete. This isn't the place for that. This whole site is dedicated to our constitutional rights...grow the hell up and deal with what's going on. Like him or not, HE IS OUR COMMANDER IN CHIEF, OUR LEADER. Respect the man a bit. If you have nothing nice to say, shut up and move on.
