Just curious how many guns each of you bring to a 'typical' range trip?

I typically bring 3-4 guns. Usually a "range" gun, my carry gun, a .22 and something else.

I'm wondering if that's too many. Should I just be bringing my carry gun and spending all my time on that? Should I switch it up - some trips as 'just my carry gun' and others with whatever?

All of them serve a purpose. The .22 is cheap, a revolver is what I keep around the house, etc...

Thanks for the input.

If it's just a 'pleasure' session I might bring 4 or 5 hands guns, and/or rifles. If it's a serious 'session' just one and the .22s. The .22s always come, even a serious session should end with some fun. Oh,except for trap night at the range, then just the shotgun comes along.

Bring what you've got. Doesn't really matter.

When I could shoot Tannerite my whole 'arsenal' came with me...shotgun, pistols, rifles.

Yesterday I went to the range with just my Kahr 9mm. Two boxes of ammo is all I could afford.

Usually I take one of my 9mms, my LCP which stays in my pocket if I'm not shooting it (I am never unarmed on the range. A man was killed last year for his guns on a public shooting range.), and I normally bring 2-3 rifles. This is my weekly routine.

2 trips from the car per person.
minimum 3 guns average closer to 5.

about once a month i bring my crono. best way to make friends and shoot all kinds of everyones guns.:D
a crono to a shooter is better than free candy to a 5 year old.

Since I find cleaning guns to be a chore and a PIA, I take no more than 4 guns with me, usually 2 rifles, .308 and SKS, usually 2 handguns, XD-40 and 22/45.:)

A Family Affair

Between my Wife, our 2 boys and myself we end up bringing:
2 7mm mag rifles
2 Heritage .22 revolvers
2 Walther p-22's
2 marlin 22 rifles
1 XD-9
1 XDM-9
1 AR-15 223
1 AR-10 308
sometimes I also bring along my 264 Win Mag
mossburg 500 12 ga
Clay pigeon Thrower
and a couple cases of pigeons

Usually two. The 642 gets a workout every time since it's what I carry and I want to stay familiar. I find myself looking in my safe for the second gun, thinking...what haven't I shot in a while. The 642 is the work horse, the second choice is like getting reaquainted with an old friend.

Today just two:my .308 and my .30-06 for some load developement. Usually 2 or 3.

Like most on this thread, depends. If my wife is along, could be a couple of .22 rifles and pistols, and a .38 snubby. I tend to go for carry-gun practice, and maybe a .22 for fun. ALWAYS armed, as stated above! :uhoh:

Guitar case full of pistols.

Seriously, I brought a BUNCH of handguns to one public range that asked that I keep ALL my pistols locked open and pointed downrange...

I ran out of space in the shooting position.

Rifles I usually don't take more than 3.

I practice with my SIG 229 two times a week. Almost everything else is strictly family time farm shooting

I only take one at a time. If it's the backyard range, it'll be the one I'm practicing with. If it's the paid range, it'll be the one I'm sighting in.

Usually between 2 and 4 split evenly between long guns and handguns. Anywhere from 10 to 500 rounds depending on which calibers and what my goal for the day is.

When dealing with indoor ranges, two pistols at the most. If going "outdoors," I will generally bring one pistol and a shotgun.

Id love to shoot more, but ammo is expensive and cleaning more than 2 guns a week is no fun.
