I was in my local gun shop today and they had a Intratec Cat 9 for $150 I was initially interested just as cheap "glove box" gun. I know the more infamous tec-9 was pretty unreliable. Does this share the same history? Also is it even possible to find a cheap holster for this if I wanted one?

Any owners of the CAT 9?

Well, the uneven lettering in the word WARNING! inscribed on the frame almost made me spit my tea out with laughter. Who knows? Might be good. Please give us a range report on that odd little pistola!

Some of the other reviews I found online make the gun sound like a pile of junk but it just seemed kinda cool to me. I really wish I knew somebody who had one to try it out. All I know from checking it out today is that the mag release is super hard to push.

Hey man,
i am 15 years old and my dad just inharreted this gun from my uncle
its his but im the only one whos gonna use it,
havent shot it yet planning on it this saturday ill try and get a review and hopefully a video =)
sorry for bad grammar, thanks,
Quentin.

Do not buy

got back from shooting yesterday the thing is i guess alright but my dads s&w 645 has less kick to it. also the skin between you pointer finger and your thumb hurts after 1 shot i shot maybe 3 clips out of it before my hand started hurting enough where i had to stop, also the spring on the clip is so tight you can only fit 4-5 bullets in at once.
i may not be on this all the time so send me an email [email protected]

So, what did you to do piss your Dad off?

I bought one of these about 25 years ago because of its low price. At that time polymer pistols were a real oddity on the market. On the one I had the polymer frame would split after, perhaps, 100 rounds. I would send it in and they would replace it and so on. I gave up and moved on. It is a very low quality p istol. My advice? Pass it up!

^^^ No apologies necessary. You pretty much nailed it.

It looks sloppy, ugly and ill-proportioned much like a bad prison tattoo. You know, like some thug life kid should have it tattooed on their neck or something....

I've never shot one, but do remember a review of it in Petersen's Handguns in the 1990s. Naturally, it was 100% reliable for the author. As you can see, it has some rather unusual design elements, not the least of which is that its trigger is a sliding DAO.
