jumping to conclusion

I fired just one of those from my Ruger Blackhawk 5 5/8 inch, into, and through a 2x4-4 in. end, and then into the dirt backstop.
44 magnum at 100 yards.

The red plastic filler; tip was driven deep into the bullet, but there was almost no expansion.

My conclusion; based on only that one round is that they are not any better than a far less expensive cast solid round, with the exception of a better trajectory.

with the exception of a better trajectory.

That's sort of the main draw for the LEVERevolution rounds.

Aren't the 357/44 mag bullets used in these loads basically the XTP bullets that are so well known for hunting?

Shoot them into something a little more hydraulic, they act completely differently, although, if they do that on a hard target, that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

As far as the improved ballistics? Shoot them out of a lever action. The difference really shows up there.
