Went to my local Wally world and they actually had plenty of 9mm, 38, .40 and .45, 1st time in about 6 months.

My local gun shop just removed the 2 box purchase per caliber to all you want in 9 mm and .40, so, is this the end of the shortage or is it just my local?

I was at my local range and they had a ton of ammo, even 38 special for a change, 10+ boxes! I wonder how much the ammo craze has died down or if its more just an availability thing.

My local wal mart had a better supply of 9mm but no 45 and absolutley no 380's . they have not had any 380 ammo now for 9 months at least. 9mmis starting to show up more in wwb 115 graihn ammo at wal mart but no defense ammo there yet and gander mt, has some but they are so totally out of price with their ammo, it makes me sick to even walk into their stores any more. Almost like posting a big sign on the door saying heh, we have ammo, so screw you we are going to gough the price out of you to...

From what I've been seeing, you can get pretty much whatever you want, but at a price. Of course, here in Chikagoland, there isn't much competition among buyers! lol.

It is a little hit or miss here, but it is definitely more available than it was 6 months ago. I went a long time without buying any pistol caliber ammo so it makes me grin when I see it on the shelves.

Went to Cabela's yesterday, and I was frankly astounded at how much was in stock. .380, you name it; even value packs of 9mm WWB and 230 .45 WWB (like running into an old college friend, seeing those 230 JHP WWB boxes on the shelf, it was).

Oddly, the .380 thing lifted in my area early this summer-way before others reported. For the last several months, I have been able to "buy a box to shoot and one for stock" every couple of weeks. As a side effect of my own .380 paranoia, I've ironically shot more .380 this summer, and had a larger stash left over than during any summer that I can remember. Go figure.

And this even with me being unwilling to "hoard" and screw the next guy; I never bought more than 2 boxes at a time (ok, maybe the first time i saw it in stock.... I did buy 3 boxes to stash that time, and I didn't start shooting it again until I went back 2 weeks later to find plenty still on the shelf).

Odd.

.45 and 9mm was a real issue until september though.

I saw plenty of SPP's at Knob Creek. There was no big rush to buy them. I have to figure its loosening up a bit.

Small pistol primers: Cabelas said "1 - 2 week backorder" and I bit and ordered....sure enough, 2 weeks and they have SHIPPED. I think that is an improvement.

Still not much here in Vegas. Wal-Mart has plenty of 223 lately but handgun stuff still is gone within hours of hitting the shelves.

Woofers, know any place in vegas that has .44 magnum? I am having a hard time finding any.

Some of the gun shops have it but it is expensive. Wal-Mart has been hit or miss
Try NevadaShooters.com--They have a ammo sighting section.

Ammo's been a little more available here, last couple weeks. I actually saw and bought some bulk pack .22LR, which I haven't seen in months.

In BHam Al, my range had 9, 357, 38 and 45 ACP in stock now. Guy said supply has loosened, up some. No 380 except some a guy was reselling at inflated price.

Walmart here is still dry, but I got a surprise when I called the local Dicks. They had mostly all handgun calibers. All 9mm was 115g, but 6 different choices, and the only non-HP .45 was Blazer, but at least they had them.

My walmart is still pretty much out of everything. I was able to buy a 50 round pack of .22lr and was told that I was "lucky" because she just got those in last night.

Gander Mountain has tons of pretty much everything but at prices that are ridiculously out of sight. My local gun shop has most everything depending on when you get there.

So, as of right now I'm sticking with cheap stuff off the net. I have a couple boxes of JHP for my 9mm, .357, and .38. But I've just been picking up a couple boxes here and there of cheap Bear 9mm and 9x18mak for plinking.

Of course, there is always plenty of good ol' 12 gauge to be had:D

My local walmart always has plenty of federal and wwb .40, and they usually have a few 100 round boxes of .45. They've been getting shipments of wwb 9mm, .380, and .38 in every couple weeks, they usually sell out within a day or two. Dick's has plenty of remington and blazer 9mm, but they charge $15 for 50 and $40 for 100:scrutiny:, compared to $22 for 100 at walmart. I guess nobody around here shoots .40, because every store I've gone to is fully stocked with it. I've been stocking up on wwb 9mm at walmart, but none of the stores around here seem to carry 9mm hollow points.
