Hi Guys: Anybody know how to read the markings on my new K-31? Production Date?
HELP! :banghead:

Thanks Steve. Yeah, the tag is there. It has a brand stamped on the right side of the buttstock. Do you think pics would be in order:scrutiny:

Anybody know where to get original mil-spec carrying case for the K-31? What did the military use for that purpose?

WOW  That would splian it Lucy. What do you suppose you would need to do to access your rifle? Looks like for stowing it when it's not in need of immediate use, uh?

Ok, here's what she looks like after a face lift.

She seems to shoot pretty well tooooooo :D
168 gr. Sierra Match King, on top of 43 gr Reloder 15, on top of CCI BR primers, held together by Norma brassworks. Man - o - man, these things rock:evil: I have to admit I'm a 1903 kind of guy but this thing is extremely impressive with it's brilliant design, old world craftsmenship, simplicity, power and just dead nuts accuracy.:what: Very impressive piece of work! Shoot, they still dominate the competitive ranks of their given discipline.

IMHO the Swiss K31 is the best kept secret of the milsurp world...or the firearms world for that matter. I modified one for High Power match shooting and it's just crazy accurate. Here are some targets. Bear in mind that ALL these targets were fired at 100 yds. with cast bullet loads, from the prone position with no rest, and all but the last target were 10 shot groups fired rapid fire (That's 10 shots in 70 seconds with one mandatory reload):

Ya gotta love 'em!

That's awesome 35!!! That's exactly what I'm trying to do. I want to replace my 03 with the K-31 for mil matches.
Ok, give up the goods 35. No time to hold out on me now. Tell me what I need to do to make this good to go. I want to put match sights on it but have no idea of what's the best way to do that. Any info. would be great. Thanks 35

Wel, if you're wanting to modify the rifle fo open classes, I just bedded mine, which I'm not even sure was necessary, relieved the upper handguard where it made contact with the barrel, installed a sling loop off a Swiss K-11, installed a Lyman 17A globe sight (they wedge perfectly between the front sights protective ears), and installed and old (and expensive!) Lyman 48 rear sight. This Lyman 48 was designed to be mounted on an FN Mauser, but fit close enough.
You could go to Grafs & Sons and just buy the K31 micrometer sights but they're really expensive.
Good luck,

HI 35: who do I have to kill to get you to post some pictures of that stuff? ;)

You can still find it here, although its around .54 to.58 cents a round.

Just checked the sportsman guide pricing on its GP11

I bought (2) Swiss K-31s right after I heard they were available. My FFL dealer had never heard of them before. I paid $125.00 apiece for them after the transfer. It took about 6 months or so for ammunition to become available (GP11). I bought two bricks and still have (1) full brick and most of another. My FFL ordered (3) bricks total and still has the other brick available for $28.00. I think I should purchase that brick Monday. I also ordered (5) 20 round boxes of Wolf Gold softpoints to make sure I always have reloadable brass. Looks like I made a pretty good investment on these K-31s. I pictured the rifles and the tags I found underneath the rifles buttplates. One has a #227 prefix and the other has a #731 prefix.
