I am looking for it in the shortage inch possible, I believe 20inch is? for double barrels?
Not in the market yet. Wont be for a while but I would still like to know, I am looking for a sxs/coach gun(double barrel shotgun) in 20g for under $500 any recommends? I am looking for a good brand, like is there a double barrel shotgun aka remington870 make? good quliaty?(spell error)

Some strange reason I like lever actions/double barrels and 6 shooters, almost more than an ak47 :confused:

Also do double barrels a risk to shoot? can the gas seap out from the break open port and burn your hands?:uhoh::confused:

Please nothing made in china.

I saw this one http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=155131650
do not know if it is anygood? Please suggest ones/pro/cons if you have a few? Thanks!!

Stoeger,or Rossi then. Mechanically there's nothing wrong with the Chinese guns, theyr'e just fugly, they don't feed the workers very well at the Zhangzou Machinery Gulag ' oops I mean Factory. Safe to shoot, I've sold them to LEOs, including female plainclothes officers, if you can get a Stoeger or Rossi, by all means do so, the fit and finish is exponentially better than the Chinese...as far as burning your hands on the breech, only a seriously defective shotgun or old one would do that. The Rossi is a pretty gun., shop around the web and the local gunshops. I've seen Stoegers in the big box stores like Cabelas, etc.

The Brazilian-made Stoeger coach gun is a hammerless/twin-trigger design with a sliding safety and a 20"bb. They're pretty decent. I have one. I hear the fit and finish is a little inconsistent, so I'd buy one you could inspect, and avoid mail-order. Gander Mt. is pretty competitive priced on them and usually has several in stock, in 12ga. They say the 20ga ones are harder to keep in stock because they're popular with the ladies, at least around here.

any chance after shooting 100 rounds or so in one day, when you place a round in it would explode from the heat? unlike pumps they are put in the tube then loaded in the chamber.

Yes, when you break it open it cocks. There are no exposed hammers like on some traditional or "cowboy" SxS coachguns.

I think you're kidding now, right?

I thought they get cocked when you close it and opening it resets the sears.

Definitely good advice not to buy the Stoeger sight unseen. They're good for the money but if at all possible hand pick one so you get a good fit/finish.

You're probably right. All I know is it makes an internal ka-click when I open it, and pretty much the same internal ka-click when I close it. :D

they are pretty nice and your not gonna get a new american double for any where near 500. rossis and stoegers are both pretty nice though

Remington has stopped importing the Spartan model from Russia. Unless you can find one still on the shelf, your only real option is the Stoeger if you are trying to avoid Chinese made guns.
