hello peeps! I went to the fun shop yesterday on my way to work and this used S&W model 60 in 357 caught my eyes, i did not have a chance to inspect it becs there wasn't enough time so I came back today and the second i held it I knew I will get it!, it is balanced like the sp101 that i used to own(also 3in),so long story short i traded my SR9C which i like :( but i really like the 357 cartridge so i decided what the heck anyway here itvis with my Ruger SP101 also in 357 mag..

Nice set of pictures--it's nice to see these two revolvers next to each other; makes study easier....

Nice find, you'll love that gun. It's an almost everything gun. Perfect size and weight for .357, .38's piece of cake.

Here's mine

best hogg where can i get that kinda sights?and that is a beautiful piece..

I have the identical gun but older version, M60-4 in .38 only, original frame size. If your newer ones shoot and handle anything like mine, you are in for a real treat! Mine has a pint sized very wide target hammer and trigger. Do your newer models have this as well? The hammer is ok, but not the trigger - bad for DA shooting.

Carefully polish the action and adjust the springs. You'll be amazed at how smooth you can get these midgets.

(You guys are tougher than me, I'm a wuss and I dislike pain, so normal full power 38s in this size and weight are way plenty for me.)

I purchased one identical to BossHogg last year, my daughter has one identical to Vikz.
I put a set of Ajax walnut grips on mine, purchased at a great price from MMCSRET here at THR. Those grips are a little fatter than the synthetic grips that came originally with mine, I really, really like 'em. They do necessitate some finesse on ejecting the .357 mag cases because of their width.
We were shooting ALOT of .38 Special in both, but after some advice on the reloading forum, started shooting .357 Mag cases with 148 grain lead double-ended wadcutters and 3.1 grains of Bullseye. This has proven to be a very accurate and mild load for this revolver. I have some loads with the Speer 148 gr. HBWC over 2.9 grains of Bullseye to try on the next range visit.
My current favorite, goes everytime for range visits. After shooting my Dan Wesson 15-2 and a S&W Model 66, both 4" barrels, my daughter still preferrred her Model 60. Great little guns!

Nice gun!

I have the 2 1/8" version, and that, too is a good shooter and a great carry gun. Someday, I may stumble on a 3" at a good price, but I won't hold my breath. If I had one, I wouldn't sell it.:)

The sights are hiviz that came with the gun, Just try hiviz.com, I like Remington 125 grain Golden Saber[.357] for carry load in mine. Really a great gun.

comparing my Model 60 w/ SP101..

I was able to try them both yesterday and the SP101 tends to handle full loads of 357 slightly better than the 60, maybe becs its a little bulkier, my 60 I think was shooting a tad high at 9yds but the sp101 shoots POA=POI, the 60 has a better SA pull than the Sp101 maybe becs it was slightly used already, using the DAO on both is something i have to get use too, they are both easy to conceal, I use Blackhawk IWB holster size 3, all in all they are both fine revolver for what it is design for, selfdefense at 5 to 7 yards , I feel well armed with any of the 2, i usually carry them with the hornandy critical defense 357 mag 125gr FTX + 2 speed loader..I highly recommend this 2 and i this a coming from a guy who loves 1911 in 45acp..

3" Model 60's are the best! Good balance, good accuracy, small enough for CC, yet large enought to shoot well and wear in the woods.

Just curious - what "dash" model 60 is it?

weg is the g26 9mm? and your 60 is 357mag? I'll take the model 60 any day of the week and 2x on sunday..

Compared to the G26

5 shots versus 12 shots

And your point?

I'd put those 5 shots from the average owner of a jewel like that model 60 against the average Glock shooter any day.....

Shooting more isn't the same as shooting better....

Just sayin........
