THR Discount Offer from Missouri Bullet Company

If you Google "Missouri Bullet", a few items down points you to this forum. Hence the non-members getting a discount. Maybe we need to supply our THR user name with the order?

Just put my first order in with Missouri. I'm anxious to see how they do, it will be my first time shooting cast lead.

I knew you guys offered a discount, but I had to search for it. I tried the HighRoad5 a few different ways as well.

Same here. Figured I'd try some lead in 45acp. Or at least have some on hand.

I have read a lot of good things about Missouri Bullet's customer service and Bullets so after swapping a couple emails with Brad I placed my first order just a little while ago.

I just unpacked my Dillon 550B after a 10 year hiatus and started reloading a few weeks ago. Did a little experimenting with some 10 year old bullets 200 LSWC and some newer ones a friend gave me. Honestly I don't remember anything about BHN back then but I had written down I was using 3.9 gr of Bullseye. Brad gave me his recommendation and I am ready to load some up.

I am going to search the forum now to see which powder works best, cleanest and less smoke with Missouri 200gr LSWC.

crashclint,

Welcome back into reloading. I load a lot of .45 ACP (10K+ a year), and I have personally found WW231 hard to beat. There are other great powders as well (I have, and still use Bullseye, for nearly 30 years).

4.8gns of 231 pushing a 200 LSWC Missouri Bullet is a one-hole load @25 yards in an accurized .45. Also one of the cleanest powders with a grease-grooved cast bullet I have tried.

A question, though. I get a lot of build-up of lube, and a decent amount of lead, in my seating die. I replaced the Lee die with one from Dillon because it's far easier to clean, but the problem persists. I'm pretty sure the cases are belled enough, as I don't see any bullet shaving, and the build-up is deep into the die. Spot checks show a gradual shortening of OAL, so I have to clean out the die after every 100-150 rounds. Any thoughts?

My post from Feb. 11. May I assume that there are no corrections for my issue? Without some assistance, I'm afraid I may have to drop Missouri Bullets- and I don't want to do that.:(

Chuck

ChuckB - sorry. My first thought is are you flaring the case enough to receive the bullet without scraping any lube off? I find it interesting that you're having the same problem with two different die manufacturers. No insinuations or accusations...just a note of interest.

I will have to give 231 a try. A friend gave me some Unique that I tried with some 230 FMJ. I loaded it to 5.9gr and it was pretty accurate. He said he didn't like the Unique with 200 LSWC, so I didn't try it.

I have to say, MB shipped my order a couple hours after it was placed. I am really impressed, hopefully they will be here by Friday so I can load at least 50 to carry to the range on Saturday

Update, Thanks Missouri Bullet I put in an order later last week for 3000, just received them early this morning. Bullets look great, packaged well, and fast shipping despite the huge snow storm.

Thanks, Quoheleth. I'll try belling the case more, and see if that helps. I really like Missouri products and, of course, their customer service. Don't want to quit them.

Hmmm, ordered Friday, here Tuesday (today). Almost had to wait as long as for an order from Newegg*. :neener:

Looks like the USPS box had a rough ride but the boxes inside held up well and the bullets look nice. Poor wife. She went into great detail explaining how she struggled to get the package inside the door.

Went to place an order (again :p), and the promo code doesn't seem to work.

Does it work for anyone else? Maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

** Edit **
Looks like the code was changed, the new one is: THR-Original

I haven't tried it yet, but I have bought from them a couple of times. I bought 240 gr Keith and 240 gr RNFP both .430 18 BN. I couldn't be any happier. Even at full price. (Still a great deal)

I just ordered 500 40 cal myself tonight. Problem with getting the discount, I put the code in a bunch of times but I couldn't get it to work. This wouldn't be the first time I screwed up on ordering.

Hello.

New here and to reloading.

I bought some .45 200gr SWC from MBC but there were a few without that blue lube, can these still be loaded? What will the difference be?

Within the past month's time, I have place two orders with Missouri Bullet Company and they're fast. The first time it only took two days to get here and the second, three days. And that says a lot when Brad (Owner?) joins the forum to talk with us. Thanks for the great service.

I'll be placing another order soon.

Thanks

My Colt and Me, Brad has posted before that he puts a few extra bullets in each box to make up for any non-lubed bullets.

Non-lubed bullets would make good dummy rounds.

But don't use them? I think I may have loaded one or two of these, is this going to be a problem?

No problem at all. I usually take the bullets without lube and load and shoot them as normal anyway. I find usually that the lube is in the bottom of the box, the rough handling by shippers seems to bang them around enough to knock it off a few here and there. I load and shoot them anyway, as its 1 or 2 rounds out of 500. Yeah, those two will probably smear a little lead, but not much. Normal cleaning will take care of it. No need to waste those bullets.

Thanks....Being new, I was afraid something drastic would happen and the thought of pulling 500 rounds was just as chilling.

Without extensive costs, is there a way to add lube to those without?

Thanks
