The title pretty much says it all I am asking if anyone here can tell me what the factory loaded OAL is for 38SP + P, TIA for your input it is greatly appreciated.

No idea what the measurement is.
But if the bullet is a revolver bullet, it has a crimp cannulure on it.
That is the seating depth.
No real need to measure it.

The only problem is that the Golden Saber doesn't really have a cannelure.

This is the .38SP version.
It has the driving band at the rear, but it must be seated a little ways into the case to keep OAL acceptable.

I cannot locate any factory loaded Golden Sabers to Measure, Hence my question as maybe someone here may have some that could be measured.
I have reloaded plenty of JHP with crimp channels. I cannot locate any pictures of factory loaded GS either.

I have been using the GS in 9mm for some time. 38 spl will not be much different.
You will need to use some of the heavier walled brass so that the sized brass will be small enough inside to hold tension on the bullet so that it cannot "Set back" accidental.

Though this is rarely the case , I don't suggest inviting trouble.
Secondly you will have to seat the bullet so that the leading edge of the driving band is just below the case mouth so that you can crimp into the bore rider surface and the leading edge of the driving band is just under and in contact with the crimp to prevent the bullet from dislodging under recoil.

I have found that in 9mm and some 38s that some thin walled brass will not hold a bullet securely without a good and proper crimp and you really cannot crimp the GS the way you would a cannalured bullet.

This is one of those cases where case length consistency is important in a straight walled case. Normally we don't even bother measuring or trimming 38s.

The one box of 38 Special Golden Sabers +P that I have measure 1.535" overall length and the driving band is just inside the case mouth and the case mouth crimped in front of the band. All Golden Saber factory rounds I've seen or measured have the driving band just inside the case mouth.

Thanks RG1 and everyone else who has posted. That is exactly what I needed. Now I will load some out to test drive so to speak
