Hello I'm looking for the cheapest 9mil handgun, 3.5-4++ inches in barrel length, somewhat good quality, all for around $300.

I was thinking of a used Taurus 9mm but any other suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks

S&W sigma? I've seen police trade in glocks around 400, german sig p6 around 350, and S&W steel framed trade in's around 350 also. At that price range I would look for a used gun over a new one. Used pistols offer alot more "bang" for the buck.

Those Zastava M88 single stack 9mms sell for $225-250 at the gun shows. I don't own one, so I don't know how decent the quality is.

Plenty of options used at that price, *but* if you are looking for a solid pistol new, then if you can scrape another $100, then you'd do yourself a favor if you took a look at a Stoeger Cougar.

Stoeger is a subsiderary of Beretta, and you are getting a name brand for less.

But again, if money is tight and it has to be used, then I'd say a Glock.

Just picked up two Ruger P95's both new for 300 each before taxes and what not. Went to the range 500 rounds later very very happy with my purchase. Way better than my FN FNP9 and that cost a lot more than the Ruger.

A used Glock will be tough to find for $300 even, but the Ruger P95 is a great choice from what I hear and can be had for that amount.

There are, or were, Egyptian Beretta 92 clones (Helwan, I think?) floating around in about that price range. Haven't heard anything exceptionally bad about them, other than very unorthodox magazine release placement.

Another vote for Ruger P95. Picked one up used for $280 and new one was picked up for $320, both at gun show. It felt best in my hand in all price ranges. Reviews were positive. Smooth firing. Handles 15+1 rounds or 17+1 w/ certain mags.

Ruger P-95's can be found for around that.
Yea, i was thinking Ruger P-95 or any of the S&W sigmas. I'm surprised none of you guys said '+1 for Taurus'.

Used Glock
No way.... A Glock for $300 or less??

For all intended purposes, this 9 mil I'm asking about is for testing my reloads. I'm getting into reloads and reloading and I need cheap test-guns of the calibers i plan to reload in.

Mind if I ask why?

I would look at the Taurus options for that price... but I am also with the crowd that says hold out and buy something for a bit more. You are nipping at the heals of some real quality used guns. Glocks, XD's, ....etc
