So I wasn't really shopping for a new Glock. I have a Glock 17 which is my bedside gun. Kinda big for EDC / CC.

Went to a local family owned gun shop and there they were. All 9mm Glocks, 3rd and 4th Gen selling for $509...that is very good for around here. I am used to seeing more like $589.

I have never really settled on a EDC / CC weapon. Currently go with a 642 but that is my "pocket gun".

Here's the question which I think will be easy. How is the Glock 19 for EDC/CC? It is neither big nor small. Does it carry well? Conceal well? IWB well? I am also looking at the 26 but those are so small...I have big hands and am a big guy?

Any love for the Glock 19 for EDC/CC?

The 19 conceals well and is quite comfortable to carry with a good holster (Raven Concealment, Comp-tac, Bladetech to name a few). Even IWB isn't a problem (and you should note that the 17/19/26 all have the same thickness when it comes to IWB). I've found it to be a good balance in that I can wrap my hands around it without falling off, but it is smaller than a full-size.

I have CC'd my G19 a few times and it does do very well. IMO, the G19 is a perfect balance between size , power, and concealability. I would carry my G19 more, but I prefer my G17 for carry. I don't mind the size, and prefer the control of a full sized pistol. My friend carries his G19 exclusively and has nothing but good to say about it.

The 19/23 are great all around carry pistols, though I have to say, you really should try to test out a 26/27 sometime, don't fall into the mag extension trap though, they shoot best and carry unbelievably well with the stock magazines, the way it was designed.

And it isn't supposed to let you use your pinky, but that's ok, the pinky doesn't help anyway.

The compact Glock (19/23/32) is the largest gun I bother trying to conceal. It fits in the jacket pocket of my leather motorcycle jacket, but it's somewhat difficult to draw from that pocket. However, it's easier than trying to get into just about any holster if I'm on the bike. In cooler weather, it's not difficult to conceal at all in an IWB holster.

However, in hotter weather in this state I carry something smaller (Kahr MK9).

Yes to all three. It is my own primary EDC. IMO it is the most "size efficient" - i.e., the smallest that still holds 15 rounds in the magazine - handgun on the market.

I am also looking at the 26 but those are so small...I have big hands and am a big guy?
I have not found the mini-Glock substantially easier to conceal or carry in a belt holster. You can add extended magazine floorplates (some of which add two more rounds), but doing so brings the butt length to nearly that of the 19.
