When I was 14 my buddy joined the Army and sold me his Savage single shot .22 for fifteen dollars. I still have that gun. Recently I took it down, refinished the stock, cleaned it all and it looks great. I haven't seen my old buddy in 25 years, but I decided that on May 19th, his 50 something birthday, I'm going to wrap that gun up and give it back to him. Wish I would have thought about it on his 50th, but I think he'll love it never-the-less. Brings back lots of wonderful memories. Hope he keeps it for 30+ years and gives it back to me. :D

That's a pretty awesome gesture. All I can say is, pics, or it didn't happen.

You're right, I need pics. I'll get the wife's camera and get to it. Thanks.

What an awesome gesture! I hope your friend is tickeled pink with his gift. I inherited a Marlin 60 from my grandfather. Having more than enough rimfire rifles at my disposal, I did somehting I knew grandpa would approve of....swapped out the scope for a slightly better one, and gifted it to my wife fro Christmas, complete with a case, cleaning kit, ammo, and safety gear. She loved the gift, and I loved giving it to her as her first gun.

I'm keeping the dog!
I know, gun's hard to see. I'll work on my picture skills. Took me 20 minutes to figure out how to upload it.
