Well I am still waiting for a couple parts in the mail. New red dot scope (Burris) and a barrel shroud but what do you guys think so far?

What elements did you build? ...looks like a regular ole factory gun to me.

Yeah, what the ?

- Buying a gun is not building.
- Buying parts of a gun and assembling is not building. Do you "rebuild" it after disassembly for deep cleaning? Sorry, AR guys.
- Bending your own AK receiver from a piece of stamped metal, now we're getting into "build" territory.

Dude

Relax, maybe the wrong term, even tho I am changing out the internals and that constitutes a a build with an AR. Hell if you buy an complete upper and complete lower and insert 1 pin you have "built" an AR.

I wish Beretta would put a collapsible stock on the Storm, rather than thatbutt ugly thumbhole stock.

When you "build" a engine you don't go out and cnc your own engine block so I'd go along with the AR guys that start with a stripped receiver and a parts kit as a build ... as long as they assemble the upper together too ... just pushing the pins through a complete upper on a complete lower doesn't count as a build :scrutiny:

As a guy that has built ARs and HK's from individual parts and bent and riveted his own AK flats, there has been a lot of creative liberty taken with the term "build" ... but its no skin off my nose either.

No, but a true builder does do more than just assemble parts. In the case of engines, I would qualify "builder" as someone who, at the very least, did the math to figure out which components work best and spends a significant amount of time making alterations like porting, polishing the valley, knife-edging a crank, etc.

If you just take the bits you got back from the machine shop and put'em together with more bits from Napa or Summit or whomever, you've assembled it, or put it together. You didn't build it. Same for a gun.

build
–verb (used with object)
1.to construct (esp. something complex) by assembling and joining parts or materials: to build a house.
2.to establish, increase, or strengthen (often fol. by up): to build a business; to build up one's hopes.
3.to mold, form, or create: to build boys into men.
4.to base; found: a relationship built on trust.
5.Games.
a.to make (words) from letters.
b.to assemble (cards) according to number, suit, etc., as in melding.

Comon people... this is a stupid argument. Let the guy enjoy his gun.

You guys are saying to build something you have to engineer it from scratch...SHEESH. You are hard to please. Good grief.

...barrel shroud...

That might not be the best idea.... just saying...

I have one in 9mm that's been great and I don't know who built it.

Not only is it a lot of fun to shoot, you could do worse for a HD weapon.

Keep on building, have fun, and enjoy it!

Nice work :)

A better stock and I would own at least one if not more.

I guess the ugly stock has something to do with being 922r compliant. Too bad.

How's the trigger? How does it shoot?

Been thinking of getting one for my wife. She shoots ARs ok but she only weighs 97lbs so I'm thinking a pistol cal. carbine for her.

The thumbhole stock is for importation purposes, but since Beretta has a huge manufactoring plant in Maryland they could easily sell it as "U.S. made." All they would have to do is the same thing that all the AK sellers do. Import the gun partially built and then add a few U.S. parts like stock and trigger groups. I guess they don't sell enough of them to warrant the extra effort.
