Hello all. I have really wondered if ebay and PayPal are really truly anti gun.

I have looked on ebay and there are literally thousands of firearm related items. Scopes, scope mounts, Aimpoints, ACOGs, stocks, gunsmithing tools, sight adjustment tools, pouches etc.

About the only thing ebay does not sell firearm related is firearms, ammunition, and magazines.

I have also sent money with PayPal and in turn I have gotten a firearm. I simply put "other". There is no place in PayPal to put firearms. You woul have to go out of your way to tell PayPal about a gun purchase.

To me if an organization is anti-gun then they actively pursue and assist in anti gun legislation. Does ebay indeed do this?

both have had long-term, antigun policies.

A Google will probably bring up their past activities in the antigun political endeavors.

As Sarah Palin would say, You Betcha they are anti-gun!

They have banned the sale of all firearms barrels & many parts, even antique gun parts like I used to buy & sell for 1800's era Winchesters & Colts.
They used to be a terrific source of hard to find parts for restoring old collector firearms. Not any more!

They have banned anything even remotely related to the AR-15, AK-47, and other guns of that type.

They have banned the sale of bullets, empty cases, and other reloading supplies.

And don't even get me started on WWII Nazi marked collector items like a butter knife from an officers dinner silverware set. That little deal got me banned from selling on eBay until the dust settled.

It was also the straw that broke the camels back for me.

My current position is Sxxxx eBay and pay-pal, and Sxxxx the horse they rode in on too!
I will never ever give them another cent of my money, for anything!

Good luck on settling any kind of a dispute if you've hidden the actual type of merchandise in dispute and it turns out to be firearms-related.

You're SOL.

Another billionaire crypto marxist boor...( guy who owns e-bay )

They always seem to climb to-the-top.

Wanna bet his round the clock body guards only rely on Ju-Jit-Su and sensitivity training?

Lol...

Yea, I bet they are Kung Fu trained and can dodge bullets.

Probably apologize to the bullet on the way by for making it miss. :D

I dont deal with either and never have but I do know a score of sellers on GunBroker dont mince words about their feelings towards these two organizations.
There MUST be something to all these ill feelings about them dont you think?

Ebay and PayPal are antigun in the same way as:

McDonalds
Burger King
Home Depot
Toys R Us
Kroger
Safeway
Nike
Wonder Bread
Target
Chevrolet
Ford
Microsoft
Time Warner Cable
Sprint
Shell Oil

All of them absolutely REFUSE to sell guns OR ammunition! That's unAmerican!BOYCOTT THEM ALL!!!!!!!

If anyone ever cares to actually read Ebay's policies you'll find out why they do not allow listing of certain firearms parts. It has to do with Ebay conducting business in OTHER countries- countries that have severe restrictions on firearms, firearms parts, Nazi relics, etc. As all Ebay sites are viewable in those countries, Ebay risks being shutout completely if they offer up an item prohibited under the laws of that other country.

The American firearms community LOVES to snipe away at a business out to make a profit. Heck, look at GunBroker and count how many sellers refuse to ship guns to California. Or how about FFL's that refuse to receive a shipment from someone who doesn't hold an FFL? That's MORE antigun than Ebay!

But hey..........it's just easier to call them anti gun.

***BTW, thanks go out to Ebay....the $$$ I've made off selling have paid for at least five guns.

Add to that the numbnutz that wont ship a C & R qualified firearm to a C & R license. :cuss:

"...Ebay and PayPal..." PayPal is owned by E-Bay. They financially support the people who think you should not be allowed to own any firearm.
PayPal has been accused of cancelling transactions and closing the accounts, without notice, of customers selling firearms and firearms related items. Some say they had to fight to get funds being held by PayPal returned too.

Not just eBay is out to cover their own behinds. Private sellers and FFLs alike sometimes have learned that lesson the hard way as did eBay in the wake of the Virginia Tech massacre.

It wasn't always like that, Ebay used to allow actual firearms and I bought and sold quite a few. When they chose to end the firearms auctions that's when Auction Arms popped up and later Gunbroker, so in reality Ebay is responsible for the success of the other sites.

Also to note is their policy of confiscating money when fraudulent activity has taken place.
I can call myself lucky as I walked away from a scam operation on myself with Paypal taking the hit.
They were not pleased that they could not pass the bill onto me. Use any other source you can to buy
something then use them at last resort whether gun related or not.

If Ebay is so antigun, why do they allow you to list scopes, grips, holsters, rails, mounts, slings, sights, stocks, reloading equipment, etc..? J ust sold my Aimpoint on there yesterday that the "pro-gun" community wouldn't even give me 200 bucks for.

Anti gun? I'll be the strange one here and say that if I had a multi billion dollar empire like ebay/paypal then I wouldn't allow gun sales either. It's too hard to keep track of and I wouldn't want to risk the profit on the firearm liability. It would be irresponsible to my corporation and shareholders.

E-Bay owns Paypal and they are both anti-gun.
Many years ago they allowed gun sales. Then they quit.
They allowed magazines and other gun parts until after the Virginia Tech shooting. Then they stopped selling "functional" parts of the gun. Those parts that actually allowed the gun to fire. Cho, the VT shooter had bought some mags off E-Bay.
I used to buy and sell a little on E-Bay but no more. Not only does their gun stance make me mad but they force sellers to accept some form of electronic payment. Well, guess what form a large % chooses - Paypal, which they own.
E-Bay ain't what it used to be.
