Can anyone decode serials to tell me the approx. age of my 5904. I really believe these used 3rd gens are some of the best values out there in my non-pro opinion. It doesn't matter, mine is well worn and not going anywhere I'm just curious.

Thats not much of an answer was it? The Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson is not really a catalog as such. It is a hard bound book ( This year ) and is available at most large book stores. Cost is close to 40 dollars but it has a wealth of information on S&W.
