Smith & Wesson (M&P) Awarded ATF Firearms Contract

Actually from what I have read the ATF split the 40 Million dollar contact with S&W and Glock.

Kinda, odd, tbh.
If I were to carry both brands I'd carry a Glock 19 and that sweet, sweet M&P 9c. Those silly agencies and their .40. 8)

As a M&P .40 owner this makes me very happy. For one reason, MAYBE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WE WILL HAVE A GOOD SELECTION OF HOLSTERS MADE FOR THIS GUN. Its very odd to me how few holsters are available for my M&P

kd, here's a bit of help for you. Sometimes sellers neglect to mention that a holster fits the M&P as they are the new kid in town.

FWIW, the "contracts" awarded are simply an open invitation to all federal agencies to choose freely among the pistols mentioned without conducting their own extensive, expensive trials. No more than $40 million may be spent on either manufacturers' weapons. In other words, these particular pistols have been "approved".

It will still be up to individual agencies to determine whether or not their agents will be allowed to carry them. (and sadly, being govt. agencies, they will likely conduct their own extensive, expensive trials to the same conclusion).

SIG should have used a classic series gun for this, or the SP2022. The P250 had no chance

Certainly didn't do anything for their stock, so apparently it isn't a Corporate or shareholder big deal.
