I just bought a p07 a week back ( to avoid the price hike that CZ is imposing), and I like it alot. But I was in sportsmans warehouse tonight and noticed the SR9c and I had to admit that I like that model alot more then I did when I first handled the first gen SR9.

So is the SR9 worth getting? How does it stack up against the P07?

I don't have any experience with the CZ and my experience with the SR9c doesn't seem to be in line with the majority. The feel of the Ruger is something that I really like. Probably the most comfortable polymer frame, double stack pistol I've ever shot. It's well balanced and seems to naturally come up to the target. But after the first trip to the range, mine went back to Ruger. Haven't gotten it back yet, so can't comment on what they said was wrong with it. That being said, I'm in the minority in that regard.

Personally I think it comes down to preference. I have three CZs including the P07 and I like it a lot. Got mine out of the gate and had to send it back because of a mag drop issue plaguing early models but their service was great and very quick.

I've yet to handle an sr9c but I've read pretty good things about them. I don't think you can really go wrong with either. The CZ is larger in all dimensions - that can be a plus or a minus depending on what you plan to use it for.

I liked my P07. Sold it to a fellow THRer but only because I'm not a big poly fan. I didn't like the plastic sights and oversize controls but the grip was great, reliability was great, trigger was good. Nice little poly pistol.

Wouldn't buy a Ruger.

Don't know about the P07, but I like my SR9c allot.

Ruger hit a couple of home runs with the revamped SR9 and SR9C. I don't know about the P07, but I like the SR9s a lot.

Another vote for the CZ. I bought one of the early ones and had the mag-drop issue but it didn't bother me. The gun shot great and ate anything I fed it. I just sold it a few weeks ago only because I don't like 9mm. I'll probably get the .40 in the future.

A price hike is to be imposed by CZ? I sure hope not, there's still a few I'd like to get.

As funny as the SR9 looks, it has fantastic feel and pointability. It had a few issues in the begining, but all of those seem to be solved (such as barrel peening) with the newer models. The only thing I don't like about them are their excessive PC safeties. That said I think I would prefer the P07.

My SR9 is a couple of years old with something over 1000 rounds in it ( I don't really keep track as well as I should) and it has been flawless and has a nice broken in trigger as well. I don't know anything about the CZ model that you are comparing it to, but a CZ75b is on my list to buy. From everything I have read, CZ makes good guns, but so does Ruger. YMMV

Never shot an SR9, last Ruger I shot was a p-90, but the CZ P-07 I have is a dead accurate, reliable with everything but my lightest cast handloads, and drops mags reliably. The newest P-07s, the ones shipping from CZ-USA now and a few months back, were inspected by a team flown in from the Czech Replublic to ensure the few issues with the very first ones were gone. A few got trigger jobs, so a couple of lucky guys are getting brand new guns with factory trigger jobs. :)
I'd stay with a P-07.

I love my SR9c. Never shot a CZ so I can't comment on that.

The ruger is a great gun, despite what haters of ruger say. Mine has been totally reliable and extremely accurate. It handles +p+ like a champ and ate up some old 147 grain bullets that I've read could be unreliable (but idk if that is true or not).

To me, it is absolutely worth getting.

I have both. They both shoot surprisingly well for a short barred 9mm pistol. The slide to frame fit is very good on both of these pistols, much better than more than a few semi auto pistols I've owned and looked at over the years. The P-07 shoots slightly better groups at 25 yards than the SR9c. They both are decent pistols for the price range, (lower $400).

My CZ P-07 has about 800 round thru it so far, no jams no light strikes. It fires hard primer ammo such RWS and S&B no problem. The grip feels very good, but the texture can be a little aggressive for carrying. If it rubs against your skin much, you will know it. The DA/SA comes with a decocker part installed. It also comes with a part to change this out to a safety if you prefer it this way as some due.

What I don't like abot the P-07. The sights are cheaply made, my rear sight loosened up or was slightly loose from the factory. Had to put shim stock under it to stop it from moving. The white on the front sight is now coming off. Kind of annoying when shooting it. The mags are not necessarily drop free all the time. This stated happening after I got some rounds thru it. This part does not bother me much but it does some people.

The SR9c has some nice features and an excellent grip. Extra bonus points for metal and elevation adjustable sights. And the 10 and 17 round mags to change grip length. About the only negative I have to say is I have had some light strikes with harder primer ammo such as S&B and RWS. So far American made 9mm has been fine. But I'm not carrying the SR9c yet till I prove it out one way or another with more rounds downrange. I also read a number of posts on light strike issues with some SR9c. Got to wonder if the striker spring is marginal on the SR9c. Currently only have about 350 rounds thru it.

I have a CZ P01 and it's one of my favorites...like a work of art. I handled the P07 and it just didn't seem to compare with CZ's other handguns. The first to turn me off was that the mag didn't drop. At Gander mountain we actually had to pry it out. However I'm sure CZ has taken care of that. My SR9 has been flawless. The pricing of the P07 in comparison with the other CZ's also concerns me.

I looked at the P-07, the P-01, and the SR9c. I preferred the P-01 to the P-07 based on how they both felt in my hand, and the fact that I just liked the alloy frame over the polymer one. Then I tried the Ruger and liked it for its overall design, quality construction, as well as its compactness. Ultimately I bought the SR9c for its concealability. Then I went back a week later and bought the P-01 because I was so impressed with its design and how great it felt ergonomically.

So my advice; buy them both.

Really want to try the 9c, my SR9 has been GREAT after 100 round breakin.

By the way, does Mr Hickok45 have the some of the longest fingers ever? I am jealous because I think I could do a lot better with my glocks with them.:)

The new .40 versions of the P-07 Duty are reportedly running great.

Same for the current crop of 9mms.

Unlike the Rugers, there have been no recalls on the CZs.

I'm not sure if India has followed The Philippines, Thailand (and others) with the adoption of the P-07 Duty for military and police
forces, but there seems to be new testing by countries each month.

Best of luck with your final decision.

Look to HIGH NOON for your CZ pistol or other holster needs.

Picked up a CZ P 07 chambered in .40 S&W two months ago. It is a great little gun: i) its surprisingly slim grip fits my smallish hands much better than does that of my full size CZ 75b; ii) I have been amazed at its accuracy -- I am more consistently on target (1-2 inch groups at 7 yards) with the P 07 than with the 75b; iii) have put 300 rounds through it and no problem yet.

My only complaint: CZ went over board in designing the strippling on the grip, which is very abrasive and left me rubbing my hands hours after shooting. Not that that's a big deal but still...

Picked up a Ruger SR9c yesterday. Went straight to the range and put 100 rounds through it with no problems. The gun feels great in my hands -- grip is even slimmer than that of the CZ P 07 and the pinky extension on the 10 round magazine nicely compensates for any awkwardness there might have been with the short grip. The gun also points well. That said, I didn't get anything like the accuracy I've had with the P 07 (3-4" groups at same distance). This may reflect the SR9c's relatively short barrel (3.5" vs 3.8" in the P 07) but it is more likely just me getting used to the sight picture.

Conclusion: I recommend the P 07 without hesitation. As for the SR9c, I like what I see so far but reserve final judgment until I've put a couple hundred more rounds through it.

No experience with the Ruger mentioned.

Have many CZs. I prefer the 75 series, but the P07 is a good gun. Accurate and reliable. Slightly on the cheap feeling side, but just slightly. I prefer the decocker over the cheap feeling safety. And the sight paint on mine came off... my only complaints and they are minor. The gun just simply works and is comfortable.
