I have a german luger, "ERFURT" 1911 in mint condition. All s/n matching,with #1 and #2 mag. the mags bottoms are alum, not wood. It has a unit marking on the on the grip below the trigger. 12.T.S.2.118
this translates:
12= regimental or batallion number
T= main arm or service, Train
S=fieldsignal-field signal
2=number of company,battery,squadron
118=weapon number

What is the value??

I'll give you $50 . .let me know when you're ready to ship. :)

Seriously . . . I'd probably invest in an appraisal of it as guns in that shape can be worth some serious bucks. There's a guy up here near me (simpsonltd galesburg IL . .you can google him) that might be a good place to start if you can't find anyone else.

Regards,
Dave

Simpson is about 30 mi. down the road from me. Everytime I stop in there I have serious issues for a couple of months.
Like dmftoy1 said, this is the place to start-you probably wont need to go anywhere else after you're done here either.
They KNOW their Lugers.
Here's thier homepage.

Simpson wants a pretty penny for an appraisal. Start here: http://www.lugerforum.com/ and take pics of all the markings. Lugers are a collector's paradise as there are so many variances that can make one worth $1000, another worth ten times that.

Also right now Luger prices are WAY up. A basic matching # WW2 pistol is retailing over 2 grand. Do your homework on what you have before you have it officially appraised.
