it's similar in size. my wife has the xd9sc, and I have a g26.
the xd is a little bigger in just about all dimensions. also the grip is slightly longer, which is awkward for me--pinky kind of half on/half off.

good gun though. shoots good. I can shoot it just as well as my 26

I have the XD9SC and am pleased with it. It is boringly reliable and a fun gun to shoot at shorter ranges. It conceals pretty well for a double stack, but not as good as my 5 inch 1911.

xd-9sc

I have a xd-9sc and I like it very much.

If you want to stay with .40, you might want to consider the xd-40sc, they are the same size.

Good gun, try one out at a rental range, most will have an example.

MrsBFD uses one fro EDC, I shoot it whenever it and I are at the range, and every time I wonder why I bother. Boringly reliable, to the point of being malfunction free for what must be 1500 rounds or more so far, I can't induce malfunctions with; cheap ammo, lousy firing grip, odd firing angles, neglect (filth), or any combination of the above.

Look for an "essentials" kit, the only downside of the XD line is the crappy holster and mag carrier SA throws in for "free" ... there were some shipped in a smaller case with just the gun and two mags a while back, I wish I didn't have the injection-molded junk or the huge case it all came in cluttering up my closet.

The XD series have always naturally fit in my hands. I have the XD9 full size. I fired 3 shots from a XD9sc, where I have never fired before, and landed all 3 in a group of 2" at 10 yards. It even shocked me as to how natural and accurate the gun was for such a small size. I did not end up using it as my CCW since it felt a little too blocky for me.

If you can grab the gun from your holster then point it to the target naturally, then it is the gun for you.

Great choice as long as its not too thick for you to conceal...Otherwise you may want to look at a single stack. I dont see how you can go wrong with the XD, except for the width of it.

My son has an XD9sc 9mm he bought about a year ago.

He loves it, and I like it a lot also.
It is very accurate for it's short slide & sight radius.

Much better trigger then the Glock, much better feeling grip angle, and has a much safer grip safety.

His came with a short 13-round mag & also a 17-round standard length mag with a grip extension.

Very nice indeed!

If I didn't have so many Glock holsters & magazines, I would have already traded my Glock 23 for one.

welcome to thr.

I have a service model in .40 that has over 18,000rds through it.

I use to have a sc in .40 that was 100% reliable, accurate, and actually not to bad in the recoil department, sof it being a .40 and such a small gun. Compared to the baby glocks i think the xd sc's are better.

and as nice as the .40 sc's are the 9mm models are even better, and easier to shoot.

Had one, just sold it. Liked it alot, really accurate for it's size. I went for a Glock 36 - I like the .45 caliber and it's a tad thinner. If you have big hands your fingers will not grasp it fully.

same thing with the baby glocks, the xd sc's, but nothing a pearce grip extenstion can't fix.
