I'd love to get in on this deal. I've decided to go life and am ready scratch the check for the $600 offer. But if I can get an hermano to help out on the $300 deal, well, heck yeah!!

Anyone out there have a sponsorship deal they can share? Thanks!

If you are a vet with a service connected disability I think you can always get a $300 life membership.

I've never seen anything about that, and haven't seen anything on the membership page. Can you tell us more about that?

Yes, please post a reliable source for this information, as my husband would be very interested. He is a service-connected vet. Thanks!!

Rogue, thanks! I never thought of myself as distinguished, so I never thought to look there :p. That just made my day.

Hello,

I went onto the link provided, however, I didn't see anything regarding a service-connected veteran being able to become a Distinguished Life Member. Does anyone know if having service-connected disabilities allows a person to become a DLM?

Also, what type of documentation is required to prove the service connection? (We do have necessary documentation if required.)

Thanks for your help,
WoB

Thank you, Tim

I sent an email to the NRA last night after originally reading this thread. Someone is supposed to be contacting us, though not sure when so I thought I would try some more research on my own. I, too, was able to find the link you suggested and, while the membership is listed there, there are no details as to what is specifically meant by "disabled veteran". My husband does receive a monthly benefit from the VA for his service-connected medical issues. I should just call the NRA directly. I was just trying to find the information before I had to do that.

Right from the NRA.
It does not have to be a service connected disability.

Q: Who is eligible for Distinguished Membership in the NRA?
A: Distinguished Membership is available to members aged 65 or older or to Disabled Veterans.

Q: I am a Disabled Veteran. What level/proof of disability is required to receive that discount?
A: Distinguished Membership is extended to all Disabled Veterans of the US Armed Forces regardless of level of disability. No proof of disability is required.

The price has gone up but it's still a good deal.

Thanks for that information, acdodd! That's great news! We also like the payment plan option. I think becoming a Distinguished Life Member is definitely something in my husband's future!

I have 5 spots open on my form, but I am asking for $300 + $50 donation (donation will go for me to upgrade my membership).

Also the form is a gift membership so I have to pay upfront for the year membership.

PM and I will give you more details. I have it posted over on glocktalk also. I would like to send the form off by Feb. 15, 2011.

I also have 2 minute men statues.

Here are pictures of the the Minute Men Statues, they weight about 7 lbs. The cost would be $25 shipped with a Name Plate. So if you want the Life membership and the statue it would be $375.

I only have 2 of these. The plates would Have your "Name" and below it "Life Member" just like the ones they gave out at the National Convention.

2nd one

I will try to sand and touch up the second one.
