Posted this in the holster section - but I think black powder folks might appreciate it more.

My fourth holster - my own design, a crossdraw for my Uberti Target Model 1858 Remington.

Cowhide line with calfskin, all hand stitched, no rivets. Got some things I want to change when I make another one - but I like it. Hope you like it too.

Beautiful. I need one of those for my regular 8" Pietta Rem New Army, one for my Pedersoli 20gauge howdah pistol, one for my 51 Colt Navy, and 5.5" Pietta Rem New Army. All left handed of course.

Thanks guys!

Jaymo - wrap all them guns up (except for the colt - I have one) tuck a $400 bill in the bundle and send it all to me - I'll get started on 'em. ;)

Thanks again folks!

Madcrate - I sure do enjoy working with leather....the only thing is I had to trim my clawhammer banjo playing fingernails off so I don't get the leather all marked up when I'm wet molding holsters.

The first time I tried to make a folding knife case I ruined several hours of work in an instant when I noticed all the gouges in the wet leather caused by my fingernails. :uhoh:

BConklin...
like you I love leatherworking but have to really be in the mood to do it since it can take awhile to complete.
I dont know if I showed any holsters I've made in this Forum and please forgive me if it seems like I'm highjacking your thread but here is an example of a cowboy rig I made in the not too distant past.
I'ts made for my Bisley-Vaquero (old syle, large frame) 5 1/2" bbl in .45 Colt.
Both holster and gunbelt are Florentine triple-laced...the holster is suede lined and the belt is pigskin lined. Lacing took forever...or so it seemed at the time.
