Hi,

I was thinking of putting a line of text on the muzzle of my rifle just for the fun of it.
Something in the direction of B.O.H.I.C.A. or Smile - Wait for flash.
Like the pictures below.
If you have something like this on your gun or know a good line to go on my rifle, post it!
Also, what should I use to paint it on?

BTW: These pictures are just examples taken from the internet, if they belong to you, let me know if you want them removed.

"Hark, the bell. It tolls for thee."

I wouldn't do it, though. It's potentially a legal nightmare if you ever have to use it in a self-defense scenario, as it WILL be used as an "example of your character" and argued that it shows a disregard for the seriousness of such a situation (i.e., making light of the fact that you have your gun pointed at someone). Almost any personal message you attach to a gun will work against you should you be forced to use it on another person.

Let me get this straight...you've got a customized, camouflage-finish Glock bearing a Werewolf-on-steroids emblem on the slide, and you're afraid of how it might look to others if you have a funny engraved on the muzzle?

Hmm.

Just to be clear:
I added that the pictures were taken from the internet, sorry if that was unclear.
Also;
The rifle is purely going to be a range gun. Self-defense is out of the question.
Gun laws are VERY strict here, it takes at least one and a half years just to get a firearms license. Then there are rules for storage; munition and firearm in separately locked safes, only brought together at the range, etc.
The police checks firearm-owners regularly, if they even find so much as a loaded magazine in your house, well.. b.o.h.i.c.a, to say the least, you are never allowed to shoot again.
I do not know of a single case of self-defence involving firearms in my country in the last 50 years.
You have a point though Wardenwolf.

That said, back to the humor.
Nice ones PT1911, thats the kind of lines I am looking for, short and sweet, but all saying :D
I think "Molon Labe" would be a bit to much, but any ideas are welcome!

God bless America.

I bet he could dig up a few cases where a murder could have been prevented though. But, I degress.... this is about muzzle text.

I want to put "I won the cold war" on the muzzle of my AK, SKS, MN, Nagant Revolver, etc.... :)

Who says firearms and a sense of humor don't mix?

My favorite was the lady Detroit cop who put yellow Smiley stickers on the floorplate of her Glock 19 mag. It was very cute...I couldn't stop chuckling.

As to the Werewolf being an ancient Egyptian God, okay if you say so. But I don't recall seeing any hieroglyphs depicting Thoth running around all ripped and aiming a pistol.

"When you care enough to send the very best" would be a good one, too...but it would probably only fit on a bull barrel.

Mcdonl, Lizziedog1, thanks for sticking to the topic guys, Charlton Heston is still my favorite "actor" though :D

68WJ, Old Scratch; LOL!
"When you care enough to send the very best" I like that one, very double sided, it would be a bit to long though, remember it has to fit on the muzzle.
Keep em coming!

were I to do something like that (not likely) it would probably be in greek Characters, and I will do my best to transliterate because I don't have a greek font on this PC. It would be the greek characters for "apoktehno" which means "I kill." It's not humorous, but it gets the point across. And in the case of a legal issue, one could say "hey that serves as a somber warning to me." But using english characters such as the transliteration above is just stupid and renders the whole thing pointless... it would have to be in greek. (That's my inner Bible Scholar and perfectionist coming out)

Got these pictures from Mark Serbu's site.

Hmmm.... Those are pretty radical. I do not think I would want to use those to try and sway someone to our side of the argument.

Just saying.

Couldn't think of any good sayings, but you did ask in the first post about how to paint your saying on the end of your barrel. I would check into getting some custom vinyl decals made up. You can give them the dimensions and have a bunch made for fairly cheap. Besides, if you are having trouble deciding what to get, you could get some different sayings and colors while you're at it. Vinyl decals apply and remove easily, are pretty durable, and shouldn't harm the finish of your barrel.

So I hear, but I've yet to see documented cases of this. I'll be happy to read them if someone will link them.

I have to admit, I chuckled at "I see dead people."

Someone gave me a glock slide cover plate with the following image for my bday.

Great thought, but I don't like it because it disrupts my sight picture, or at least has the potential to do so. If it weren't for that, I'd put it on my carry gun. I slapped it on my range gun just to see what it looks like, though.

While not on the end of a muzzle and not humorous, I actually use this as a witnessing tool, something positive.

One of my target guns.........

If the police in the Netherlands have the henhouse ways as described by 30calFun, I think I'd forego the little pleasure of a cutesy saying and work toward a low, unobtrusive profile.
