Anyone see a problem shooting .22 long rifle ammo in an 1885 Winchester short Lo Wall single shot round barrel rifle? Enscription on rifle says it is made for 22 short? The long rifle ammo seems to fit o.k.

In the functional and safety senses...

there is no problem, if, as you say, the LR round chambers freely. If the original barrel was simply rechambered for the longer cartridge, the slow rifling pitch for the short cartridge will not properly stabilize the heavier LR bullet, and the bullet will keyhole at any range - no accuracy is possible. If the barrel has been re-lined, as well as re-chambered, it is likely that the liner has the proper pitch for the LR, and, if the installation and chambering were properly done, should shoot well.

Thanks for the input!

Thanks for the input! I don't think it has been rechambered or re-lined and I was surprised the .22 long rifle ammo chambered in it.

Nothing to do but to shoot the gun.
Long rifles won't hurt it but probably will not shoot well due to inadequate twist rate.
You might get good results if you can find some longs. Same bullet weight as shorts but less jump through the LR chamber.
