best 9mm

I own a CZ 75B and an XDm in 9mm. They both seem equally as accurate. The XDm is more comfortable to shoot and it came with a lot of goodies and a carrying case. I got for $539.00+ tax. If I could only keep one, it would be the XDm. I was surprised not to see it as a choice in the poll. - Glassfixer

What are you going to do with it? Carry? Home defense and range only?

OK, so the Hi Power is out of your price range.

For carry/HD/range: CZ-75D PCR, HK P7 PSP, Sig P228, Glock 19

For HD/Range: CZ-75B, Sig P226, Glock 17

Please don't use this poll just to justify a Glock, because I can tell that's what you think you want. But, your're probably young and that's what most younger guys want now.

EII'm surprised no one has mentioned my choice which is a Sig P6. Single stack, steel frame European made and absolutely reliable. You can buy one for under $400 and there are scads of aftermarket parts and services offered for them.

I didn't even realize there was a SA variant on the Cz-75 ... Can anyone comment on the advantage that would offer over the (hammered / cockable) DA/SA version? (That is, what's *good* about giving up DA? :))

What I don't know can fill quite a few books ...

I would have to say "None of the Above".

My favorite 9mm. is the Browning Hi-Power.

EII'm surprised no one has mentioned my choice which is a Sig P6.

Nothing against the p6, but when the question is price is no object I'm not suprised people pass the P6. Even if I wanted a Sig it would be a 226 or 228 over a P6.

I would pick the 75B S/A due to the better controls, with the understanding that the slide profile is a little different and may require some effort to find a holster.

The 75B in .40 has the same slide profile, so that will open up your options a bit, really make it easier to use search terms to find one I'd say.

Viking the Sigs have aluminum frames.

Yto Timothy I've heard the single action version can have a slightly better trigger, and it has a different, more cocked and locked friendly safety. Slightly heavier slide profile, probably make it a little bit faster in a rapid aimed fire.

Beretta, its reliable, beautiful, accurate, easy to shoot, easy to carry, easy to maintain.

I can have as many as I want, and money isn't an object. If I could only have one, then I'd keep the Glock, because it's the 9 that I shoot the most. The others practically never see the light of day.

Girodin, your reply leaves me puzzled. Care to explain further?
It's obvious to me, and I don't own either. The Sig P228 is practically the same exact gun, with a very slightly wider grip. But it hold 13+1. So why would anyone choose the P6, unless they have really small hands?

if for carry i have a cz 75b s/a compact 9mm. for range my beretta is so accurate. so i am glad we can have as many as we can afford, and don't have to choose.

9mm is my favorite all around caliber. My absolute favorite gun is my SIG P226, which I've had for over 15 years. It fits perfectly in my hand, is accurate, and points very well for me.

I've always wanted a P7M8, but never owned one, that would be my second favorite. Borrowed a friend's once many many years ago and never forgot how good it shot.

Lately I've really been liking my new Walther PPS in 9mm. A sweet concealed carry gun.
