Howdy guys, so for those of us that are truly gifted and overcame the right handed norm :) curious as to your favorite lefty gun? Pics welcome!

Mine, which was also my very first was my awesome little Savage Mk. II .22 LH bolt. Great accurate little gun that also holds a special place among the collection

Vz-52 rifle and Winchester 1895 are tied in my opinion. Both are handy, accurate, and comfortable to operate lefty.

My favorite left-handed gun is my Mathieu. Before the MK V came out, Weatherby sold the Mathieu guns to southpaws. Mine was originally in .300 Weatherby. It is now a .300 Win Mag. The barrel is by Buhmiller.

I bought my brother a .375 H&H Mauser several years ago and that is high on my list. I bought myself a Weatherby Mk V in .257 Weatherby and am really looking forward to getting all set up and shooting this summer.

I'm a lefty, but none of my guns are. Mostly its because I trained with weapons that were right handed. The military rarely makes provisions for the minority. So I overcame, adapted and improvised, and despite the rare brass in the face, I shoot right handed guns just fine. If I were to get a left handed gun, I'd have to relearn everything I've learned about shooting. so, not really worth it in my opinion.

Although, I have looked at the Charter Arms Southpaw. I love revolvers, but don't own one because I hate switching hands to reload. A left handed revolver is very appealing. Only problem is that it does not come in .357, only .38+p

@federal farmer What did the 375 H&H set you back, ive been looking for a lefty?
@ Usaf vet that reminds me I need to look back into lefty revolvers!

Winchester 71... and my AUG (with lefty bolt installed), it is always fun to give it to a righty so they can experience the delightful aroma of singed nose hair and hot brass.

I’ll say the least liked rifle from my left handed experience is the M1.

The most liked a Savage 99 lever action with the tang safety and rotary spool magazine.

When Remington finally released the 700/40X left handed series those became my favorite rifle for target and hunting.

On a whim in the early nineties I purchased the Winchester Classic series in 30-06 and 375H&H. I kept the 30-06 and sold the 375 H&H. The proceeds from the 375H&H covered the original purchase expense of both rifles and then some.

One rifle that gave me pure satisfaction was the least esthetically pleasing a Remington 788. A gentleman with a rifle that Flaigs had custom built for him challenged me as to which rifle was more accurate. The winner got the other’s rifle. I certainly didn’t have much to lose.

I won. Took his rifle and packed up my gear leaving the firing line. On the way out I placed the rifle in his vehicle. If the boot would have been on the other foot he would have taken mine and sold it off. Taking him down a step or two was satisfying.

I have quite a few LH guns, but my absolute most favorite is my "go to gun", it's my Krieghoff,

Over the years, it has put literally "tons" of meat in my freezer!

My first left handed rifle was a Steyr Mod. 95 converted to lefthand (very easy to do) and custom barrelled in 7x57. This was my deer rifle for 20 years. No clue why I sold it.

300 Weatherby Mag in left hand bolt. Sold it, tied of paying so much for brass.

Savage 99 with tang safety in .308. Sold it, no clue why.

90's Win. Mod 70 Classic Sporter in Stainless and left hand bolt. This is my dedicated hunting rifle and I love it.

My M1A's are very left handed friendly.

Kel Tech RFB. I just got this and it is a total game changer. I have not fired it yet, but it handle and feels like nothing else.

I write and throw with my right hand but have a left dominant eye so have always shot rifles and shotguns left handed. (I've also shot competitively with handguns -NRA PPC- and shoot as well left handed as right handed..).

I prefer the Marlin lever-actions. I like the Winchester M94 and others, but due to scope mounting, I've preferred the Marlins. I've got a Glenfield(Marlin) M30 in .30/30, a M336C in .35Rem, an 1895 in .45/70, and a new .338MX in .338MarlinExpress. The latter is my current "darling". An aquaintance I was recently hunting with remarked as how he could tell I shot it left-handed as I had a butt-cuff for the ammo on the left side of the stock, and the hammer extension switched to the left side. I also have a Winchester M94 "Legacy" in .45Colt. Very nice rifle. Not crazy about the range limitation of the cartridge, but with a "warm" handload with a Hornady 250gr XTP has hurt the feelings of some bolt-action/scope sighted rifle shooters. It will approach MOA at 100yds with a reciever sight !

I also have a Thompson-Contender in 7-30Waters that I'm rather fond of. Being a single shot and operated by the squezing of the trigger guard to semi-cock and open the action, it too is an "ambidextrous" action.

I too, have 3 Remington Mod-7's. The light weight and balance allows easy retention of shouldering with the left hand and operating the bolt with the right. I'm sure it looks funny, but it works for me. .223; .260Rem; 7mm08. One of the latter two may eventually get retired or traded as they "overlap" in function. (Deer, pigs, elk)

I have a Savage M110LH in .30/06, but it's not a favorite rifle. It's not particularily accurate. And, it dosen't care for ammo loaded above factory pressures as the action lacks the "camming action" upon opening/extraction of the mainstream actions such a Rem M700's, Win M70's, or the 98 Mausers, ect.... It even has sticky extraction with "warm" factory loads.... It's getting sold, soon.

I also have had a Remington M760 that I was fond of, but lost interest in it due to the poor ergonomics of the forward slide and that it "rattled" badly, several times scaring game as I "manuvered" the rifle into firing position while deer hunting from blinds or deer stands. The rifle was in .35Rem and was used for hunting in "wooded" areas. It's role was later taken by a Marlin M336 in .35Rem. Not quite as accurate, but a superior machine for it's purpose....

I'm right handed, left eye dominated. Over the time i learned how to get over it but just few weeks ago i have found my Holly Grail, left handed Martini International Mk.II What a difference, well worth the wait.
Cezar.

I'm right handed, but enjoy shooting southpaw every now and then ;)

so far my favorite has been the Benelli SBE II (LH model of course)

I have tried several rifles and yet to find one that was just right for me.
Still looking though. Would love to see Barret 98B in a lefty version.

Southpaw here. My favorite aint a lefty built rig, but very lefty friendly.........

I love where the safety is located, and can operate the rifle with the right hand, while never having to move the left hand from the grip. ( Op-rod handle, mag release, etc.....

The M14 types are also well made for transition too/from either hand.

Smith Enterprise Inc. came out with a neat little part for this type of rifle with right handed folks in mind.(A few yrs back). The part is an "extended bolt release", which basically turns the bolt stop into a bolt release, similar to that of an AR..........

SANY1245.jpg

This pic shows 2 rifles.... ( ARMS mount = M14S Tanker, and the other = M1A-A1)... with the typical bolt stop that most are familiar with .

LRBM14SABushrifle2.jpg

Look closely at this rifle...(LRB M14SA Tanker)...... as this rifle sports the SEI boltstop/release.

The CX4 is great lefty; lefty safe, lefty mag release, left eject; right side charging handle...

BUT, my .243 Montana M99 custom lefty (SS/fluted) is the cats pajamas. More so, now that their prices have gone up...

I'm right handed but my oldest son is a lefty and where he lives there is very little hunting so he comes home to hunt with me and leaves his rifle with me to check the sight in. He has a savage 270 left hand model that is very accurate but his first love is the rifle that he killed his first deer with my ruger#1 270 and its not a lefty is and ambi.

My original favorite was a 99 Savage in a .308.

Thought I needed more power, so I went to a my next favorite, a Browning A-Bolt stainless in 7mm mag and a composite stock.

Being a wood guy at heart, my new latest favorite is a 7mm-08 in an A bolt Browning micro (had to look a LONG time for that one). Satin finish, over a pound lighter than the 7 mag, and a wood stock.

I will NOT however, have to ask myself why I parted with the 99 Savage. She's safe at home, behind a nice thick steel door, ready for next fall when I take my nice hunting for the first time. That's the gun she'll be shooting.

If you want to talk favorite shotguns, we'll talk about my left hand Benelli SBE...:D
