Why will 517 go to the floor before 234? Is it because the House is a gimme and the Senate is more questionable?

Its very difficult for me to understand the site where the bill is posted so does anyone have an update on the status of the open carry? Someone that has recently read the amendments and can make sense of it all?

Yeah I sure can.... It is no longer open carry! It has a clause in it that basically says that in the even of an inadvertent exposure you will not be held liable for a crime.

When is it expected to pass?

It passed already. Just waiting on Gov's signature. It's not open carry though. The bill just decriminalizes brief, inadvertent exposure.

SIGNED!!! now it's the law!!! (small step for our rights, but I'll take it!) Us Floridians can now not get in trouble for printing or accidental showing of our weapons.

It does not say printing in the bill text.

tit for tat... a brandishing charge is a far worse thing than printing, but now as long as it can be deemed unintentional, the spirit of the law applies and any judge or arbitrator will most likely agree on that point. Either way, I don't have to worry about it as much anymore.
