I can see the value of having a "one stop" place that has an interactive map of places to go shoot, places to buy guns and ammo, etc... I do a lot of traveling and if the "gunfolks" community had a bit more data on the areas I travel in, I would consider joining (as long as I'm not getting slammed with a bunch of email ads).

Your loss.

You'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar... No reason to be snarky. Can't please everyone all the time.

Yeah, I got the spam in my mailbox.

That alone is enough to say no thanks.

Spam is bad. I don't condone it. I didn't get an email.

Yea you're right, I apoligize to six. But gunfolks don't spam. The e-mail he recieved was an invitation cued by a member who thought he might want to join.

raildriver, you should join and add the info yourself so that others can profit from it.

You're correct, it wasn't sent by the site.

But in the interest of full disclosure, as best I can tell, it appears to be sent by the founder of the site.

Not a big deal at all. Just put me off to the site. Good luck to them. If they develop it into a thriving community I'm sure I'll visit.

Thanks Heretic.

Six I emailed guys who were in my gmail contacts. You were in my gun guys list because you are local in my city, and we've spoken before regarding the sale of firearms. I was inviting my gun contacts to help beta test because I figured they might be interested. At the time, the site was still in the development phase and I was just looking for input and feedback from my personal contacts. I am heading over to palmetto state armory tomorrow to tell them about the site. Its hard work getting off the ground!

How can I possibly get the word out if any time you tell someone about your website its spam?

Many of our members have been sending out invites, and have been helping spread the word in various places where they know gun enthusiasts will see it. I really appreciate and need that grass roots type of assistance. I am definitely not trying to tarnish the reputation of the site with "spam"

I appreciate that THR has been tolerant of the couple of posts here. I love THR. This site helped me make the decision on my first ever firearms purchase, walked me through educating my formerly anti-gun wife, and has made me a responsible gun owner who cares about 2A rights enough to create my own communications bridge for the firearms community.

I think the site needs a great deal of work and redesign. I also think the high road is the best site, most organized and well designed.
