If you buy a cz52 you will pay 300 for a 100 dollar pistol. Gee, how about a tok of some kind or an excellent yugo 24/47 mauser? Just a thought.

Nice try.....An extremely unusual milsurp design with the CZ name and only 200,000 made, in roller locking block action, SA/de-cocker/safety, firing pin block, hell raising cartridge and superb accuracy out to 100 yards and you claim it's only worth $100.....LMAO

Sounds like someone is just bitter he didn't get a fine example before they dried up.....Too bad for you! Don't quit your day job, the price isn't coming down on the 52s. :scrutiny:

Darn, I here I was hoping with all the bad mouthing the C-52 seems to get these days, I was going to be able to buy some more up really cheap!:p

Of course that means the three I got are going up in value.:D
Love the gun.

I think an M57 sounds about right, handled one at a gun dealer the other day, almost bought it on the spot.

Not to off-thread, Fastcast, but I own two cz-52 pistols, grey ones, not those blued things, that I bought 3.5 years ago for 109.oo each. They are oversized, ackward, and the reason they only made 200,000 or so is that the Cz military realised they were dogs. It is the the only single-action pistol I have that I cannot cock with one hand. The tok is a better pistol. O.P., do not buy an overpriced cz52. 189.00 romie at SOG. What does LMAO mean?

Vellocet, your personal likes and dislikes are just that, yours. Opinions are what we do here but lets stick to the facts on pricing.

You're more than welcome to not like the pistol, just as I think the Tok is nothing more than an ugly, crude knock off of JMB's design.....To claim the 52 is a $100 pistol because you personally don't like it doesn't jive with todays market and is bogus information.

Only making 200,000 is exactly why the prices are going up, not to mention many like their oversized, awkward feel, unusual looks and action.....The 52 is authentic and original, not just another knock off. ;)

DEMS fighting words pardner! Draw Your pistols!:p

Seriously, I love them! I like my 1911 but I like the C-52 even more!

I have no problem thumb cocking the C-52, but it like the 1911 was designed to be carried in the cocked position.

Want to sell your 52's? Cheap!

Thank you, stonecutter 2. My last off-thread comment: I have enjoyed shooting my cz52 pistols over the years, and have done it enough to appreciate that they are on the rock-bottom of comblock semiautos. O.P, buy something else. If you do get a 52, make sure you stock up on firing pins, rollers and do NOT trust the decocker.

My choice would be a K-98. I have 2 of them, both for around that price and they are excellent shooters.

LOL ..... I've bought one machined firing pin and saved the unbroken original, haven't needed another. The de-cocker seems to be an issue on the re-arsenaled 52s.....Mine has never malfunctioned but with that said I always point any de-cocker pistol in a safe direction.

Haven't needed any rollers either, a dab of grease goes a long way. Mine has been through several spam cans.

OP (rabb).....Don't listen to Vellocet! :p

Meh. I own a CZ-52 that I paid around $100 for, and while I certainly feel it was well worth that, I DON'T find it worth what they're currently going for. Its single action, limited capacity due to the single stack magazine, has a fairly non-secure grip attachment method, has a quirky mag release, no externally accessible slide release, and without an aftermarket conversion that is nearly impossible to find, is chambered in a relatively obscure cartridge (fun to shoot, but obscure).

Don't get me wrong - mine's not going anywhere and its not a BAD pistol, but for me the coolness of the '52 was in its price. For $100 it was a steal. For its current prices - I'd far sooner get a modern 9mm gun.

MGM, I see your point, if what you care about is modern features at a price point.

To me the big intrigue of the 52 is its quirky styling, delayed roller locking action, exceptional long range accuracy and that obscure cartridge.

Such features aren't easy to come by in a modern 9mm at any price....Not everyone buys firearms based on modern features. If one bought the 52 based on that criteria, or as a CCW they bought the wrong pistol.

Hell, all this non-sense and we don't even know if Rabb is interested in one. Probably not, don't see him liking the 52 but who knows since he's been MIA in his own thread......Think we chased him away! lol

Depending on what type of milsurp you are looking for, an Enfield would be great. The No. 4 Mk Is are great but .303 isn't the cheapest. I would suggest a 2A or 2A1. They are 1960's Indian-made rifles chambered for the 7.62 NATO. Ammo would be a better bargain than .303 but the rifle might cost a little more than a No. 4 Mk I.

These 2As aren't too hard to find, normally at least one at your local gun show, but watch for condition. Some of these are pretty beat up.
They are a blast to shoot, especially knowing you can just feed it surplus 308 :)
Good Luck

Having both, I must say the 1911 is a more accurate rifle than the K-31, at least comparing my one 1911 to the six K-31's.

1. Enfield no1 mk3 or no4 mk1. They are great rifles and fun to shoot. really fast action if you get a nice one. I have a nice no1 mk3 1917 lithgow all matching and another aussie 1943 no4 mk1
2. Mosin sniper if you dont already have one.
3. webley revolver if you can find one on gunbroker for the right price. if you do let me know so i can buy it first.
4.k-31
