thinking about getting some ammo money and get rid of some guns i dont use anybody sold on here before is it safe i'd hate to get to get ripped off

I have sold a few with no issues. Because you recieve money and can ship once it clears. Bought one, and its been a rather crap experence. 99.9% of the people here are great to deal with, just keep alot of communication and make sure they are not brand new.

Plenty of people have sold guns on here. I've traded guns on here, but never sold. If you are selling, the ball is in your court. You can specify that you won't ship till you get paid. As long as you know the general monetary value to place on the item that you are selling, you'll be good to go. Also, be aware of your local laws about selling firearms. Good luck.

I bought a rifle from a fella on here last year. One of the more pleasant transactions I've ever made.

Ive sold on here. Just like gunbroker without the fees. If you're worried about getting burned have them send postal money order or paypal. Most people on here are class acts.
Sell with confidence.

yes thats a problem i have no idea of what i'm doing never done it before think i'll wait till after the gun show then i'll see what to do anybody with any info on this please chime in i'm in kentucky

Easy to sell here if you know what you have, what it's worth, and how much you'll take for it. Post pictures. Get good contact info from buyers; for firearms, make sure you are both clear on shipping expectations (FFL to FFL, or receiving FFL will accept from private seller, etc.). Don't ship until payment clears, then provide tracking numbers. Keep the buyer informed throughout the process. Don't try and scam anybody. You should be good to go.

And punctuate communications. Gives you a more professional image, and helps build a prospective buyer's confidence.

Make sure you're shipping to a legit ffl if it's out of state. Always wait to receive a copy of their ffl before shipping. Oh and include a copy of your drivers license for the transfer.

I've bought and sold numerous guns and a whole bunch of ammo and gun parts here. I've never been disapointed or felt ripped off. I sold one revolver that hed an issue I was initially unaware of. I had the buyer send the pistol straight to my Gunsmith with a pre-paid shipping label. My smith fixed it and returned it directly back to the new owners FFL. Since it was my error I covered all of the costs too. He was thrilled I took care of it so quickly. It didn't cost him a penny, he had his gun back in his hands in 9 days.
Good communication is the key to making any transaction go well. Don't be afraid to answer all the questions the future buyer asks. It'll help them better understand what they're getting for their money. Answer all PM's and e-mails as quickly as you can.
The members here want to be fair to you, and to themselves. If you do feel you didn't get a square deal you have plenty of opportunities to make it right between both parties.

The big advantage of selling here, is you'll get at least two or three times the amount of money you would ever get by trading it at a gun shop or pawn shop.

Follow all the laws in your jurisdiction and get your bank deposit statements ready!
If in doubt, ask for help. Transferring guns is easy with a good FFL dealer on your side.
Good luck in your sales

Gearchecker

I've got two I'm tired of playing with and about ten on my ready to play with list. I live 2 hours from you and I bet there's a hundred more people just like me on here that would meet ftf for a deal. And also like me I bet they check the classifieds everyday.
I say post away. BTW there is a small show in Cave City tomorrow, that is only an hour for you.

I've bought guns on here, always had good experiences doing it. The classifieds here are one of the first places I check when I have some money to play with.

Face to face with cash in hand is the best way to do it if your state is OK with it.

+1. Didn't take though. :D

I've sold gun accessories to members here, never a problem on either end. I would have no problem selling a gun (hypothetically). Just follow state (some, e.g., California, require even in-state private sales to go through a FFL) and federal laws regarding gun transfers.

Got ripped then called out

I purchased one a couple years ago. It showed up with a broken stock. Then after I sent a personal message to the fellow telling him I was not pleased and asking for a reduction in price he proceeded to call me dishonest on the forum. The deal was to be prepaid in unrevokable funds which should have made me more aware that something was not right. I have purchased two guns on the internet a got taken both times. I will not ever buy a gun that I have not put my hands on.
